Frigg needs MORE help...baby's arrived and she's a she!

(179 Posts)

But We can't find a name for her sad

All previous short listed names are pretty much out.they don't suit her.

DP likes Nuala,I don't
I like Sylvie,DP doesn't

We need a short (2-3 syllable) name.
Siblings are Skye & Arlo.

I've searched every possible baby name site, read books had 100's of threads and still nothing sad

middle names…..

Greta Maeve
Greta Wren
Greta Rae
Greta Ruth
Greta Isis

Those are lovely sausage.

I like longer middles though.
The other two DC have 2 middles.
one long (2-3 syllables) and one short (1 syllable).

Greta Clementine Maeve
Greta Juniper Wren etc

or Greta Sylvie Ruth
Greta Nuala Rae (that one doesn't work so well…)

FunnysInLaJardin Tue 10-Dec-13 20:43:52

btw Greta nn Etty is fab too!

will you use a family name for a mn?

I love Hester, but DP doesn't,he vetoed it a while back. Meany.

She does suit Greta more though grin

No family names, there are to many traditions and we could never satisfy everyone so we decided not to from the get go with DC1.

Congrats! You HAVE to use Greta, although I am very envious as I'll never get to use it sad

MistleToastyStoHoHoat Tue 10-Dec-13 21:05:09

Personally I'm not keen on Greta, makes me think of milkmaids in aprons and caps with curly braids.

I love Etta.

HOWEVER if she suits it and you both like it, go for it!

DitsyDonkey Tue 10-Dec-13 21:18:13

I'm not in love with Greta if I'm being honest (but then I don't have to love it)

I think you had nicer options on your previous threads!

Flora Juniper was one of your previous options iirc, that was beyond AMAZING!

She just doesn't suit them Ditsy it's odd,but she just isn't any of the names we had picked out.

Greta seems right for her...I'm just hoping DP doesn't have another change of heart.

Mrsindecision Tue 10-Dec-13 21:28:23

Can't believe I missed the arrival of baby Zeflora!

Huge congratulations to you and your family. I think Greta is pretty cool, it's a bit haughty, a bit 1940's film star, a bit femme fatale, a bit ass kicky.

Can't she have Zephyr as a middle name? Seems a shame to waste it.

DitsyDonkey Wed 11-Dec-13 00:04:02

Greta Winter Juniper

Or

Greta Winter Clementine

Would be pretty darn cool!

I love these threads and the things people suggest. You have two quite unusual names for DCs already, so people suggest Mary, Bridget and Holly. grin Actually I have tears in my eyes of something or other, imagining you introducing your DCs as "Skye, Arlo and Bridget."

Greta is lovely BTW. And congratulations.
