Wow. Those are quite, um, extensive lists.
I'm pretty sure I have more conservative/boring taste in names than you, but from your lists if I had a boy and a girl tomorrow I would name them Sylvie and Roan.

ITCouldBeWorse Sun 15-Sep-13 12:29:24

Just wait and see what baby looks like.

You have some lovely names there (and a few stinkers IMO, but that's as it should be). Do weed out iffy initials or rhymes with your last name .

Don't panic. Name your little person when he or she is here.

Ivo Innes

&

Mabel Blythe (or Blythe Mabel smile)

Wishfulmakeupping Sun 15-Sep-13 12:31:48

Nancy/Mabel/Clara I love Betsy if its a nn for Elizabeth
Same for Bertie and Albert as full name
I'm going make your lists longer and suggest Emmett/Emerson and Roman for possible boy names too

Frikadellen Sun 15-Sep-13 12:49:20

Doris Agatha has a interesting (in a nice way) ring.
Earnest Bartholomew.

(but I do love the name Flora)

CordeliaRose Sun 15-Sep-13 12:59:18

Ezme Flora - though I prefer the spelling Esme tbh!
Nancy Juniper - guessing you like Nancy as it appears a few times in the list smile
Sylvie Celeste

Innes Jude
Rufus Aubrey

niffernaffer Sun 15-Sep-13 13:09:00

I thought you had already picked FRIGG? Are you expecting multiples or do you change your mind a lot?

JustBecauseICan Sun 15-Sep-13 15:54:06

Beatrice and Rufus for me.

lljkk Sun 15-Sep-13 16:01:19

Gawd, MN baby name preferences make me laugh.

Okay, you asked for it:

Luna: alright if you're inspired by Lovegood.

Most of them make me cringe.

We know a lovely Farrah, so that gets my first vote.
Quentin for a boy.

MissPlumBroughtALadder Sun 15-Sep-13 16:01:41

Wow I LOVE your taste in names! Loads I like in there. I found it interesting that you have Nancy three times in your list - could be a sign?

Tinlegs Sun 15-Sep-13 16:06:00

Nancy Maud
Barnaby Jude

HTH. Are you having boy girl twins or just being prepared for either sex?

SubliminalMassaging Sun 15-Sep-13 16:08:43

Ok, first of all, before I go any further, please tell me Doris and Enid are a joke. Please. for the love of god, don't do it.

EastFife5Forfar4 Sun 15-Sep-13 16:08:43

Luna Scout
Buckley Kip

Nope none are a joke but some are obviously a bit out there.

We have chosen one for each gender,I just wanted a few ideas in case they don't suit the names we've picked iyswim..

We aren't having twins,we just don't know the gender smile

squoosh Sun 15-Sep-13 16:36:19

Definitely not Tulip!!!!!!

WeetzieBat Sun 15-Sep-13 16:44:19

Out of interest, what are the names you've chosen?

baskingseals Sun 15-Sep-13 17:05:04

Margo Delphi Pearl

Asa Rufus Auden

Some magnificent names, are we allowed to know what you have chosen?

We have chosen:

Flora Mabel (ivy) not entirely sure whether we'll use ivy.

And

Rufus Asa or Asa Rufus (still undecided on the flow of this one/which should go first)

You're coming up with some fab combo's that I hadn't considered btw,so this is working very well! Thankyou grin

Oh and the repetition of names is because the lists were complied over several years months, and every time I went through and deleted repeats,my iPad added them back in angry

fuzzpig Sun 15-Sep-13 17:17:56

Asa rufus sounds better imo, the S sounds are too close together in Rufus Asa

EnjoyEverySandwich Sun 15-Sep-13 17:32:55

Nancy Margo or
Margo Nancy or

Darwin Jago or

Asa Jude

I had a relative called Beulah, I think it's fab.

Alisvolatpropiis Sun 15-Sep-13 17:58:03

Clara Celeste

And

Torrin Jude (Torin is usually spelt with just the one r though?)

You know you're over-thinking this, yes? smile

Adore Hester and Bartholomew, so I'll choose those two.

Flora Mabel is nice but Mabel Ivy isn't good imho.
Bartholomew Asa sounds nice - much better than Asa Rufus or Rufus Asa imho.

Yes,I know grin

Clargo55 Sun 15-Sep-13 19:06:18

The names you have picked out are lovely. I noticed on your boys list there is a couple of Cornish names, do you like any for girls?
A couple of my favourites are Lowenna or Lamorna.

Loveyouthree Sun 15-Sep-13 19:31:05

Posy and Jude!

Orrrr Nancy? Ours was going to be a Nancy but she didn't look like one sad

Omg, just realised my choices sound like Punch and Judy good job I'm not pregnant with twins

Love Posy - I wanted it for dd2. She says she would've killed herself if she'd been named it, though. smile

DustyBinAteMyCat Sun 15-Sep-13 19:53:27

We have quite similar taste op. I may save your lists for when i have another.

My top names are all on your lists - audrey, scout , ottilie and Jude.

I have an Arlo.

So do I Dusty grin

StrawberryMojito Sun 15-Sep-13 20:05:32

Girls- 1st choice Merryn, 2nd choice Romilly

Boys-struggling a bit. Favourite probably Albie. Then Kip and then Roan (but don't like your spelling of Roan).

DustyBinAteMyCat Sun 15-Sep-13 20:07:32

high five!!

I would personally avoid any ending in 'o' then.

I'll be coming to you if i ever get pregnant!

DustyBinAteMyCat Sun 15-Sep-13 20:08:46

...and i love Esther too

grin

Yes,as we whittled this list down we took out O endings...but I wanted this to be a start again list iyswim...

This thread is reminding me of names I loved and put aside and giving some lovely combinations I hadn't considered thanks

rachel234 Sun 15-Sep-13 22:00:06

Luna Celeste
Flora Merryn

Quentin Asa
Rufus Ernest

evamummy Mon 16-Sep-13 13:54:48

Love Clementine Pearl and Emmeline Norah

And Quentin Ivo would be cool for a boy. Or Phineas Auden.

EnjoyEverySandwich Mon 16-Sep-13 16:08:33

Why on earth do people like Scout? It's horrible, look at all the nasty things it rhymes with:

bout, clout, doubt, flout, gout, grout, knout, kraut, lout, pout, rout, shout, snout, spout, sprout, stout, tout, trout

I know it's in that book, but it wasn't even the character's name, it was just a nickname. I know somebody who had a horse called Scout, and that's where it suits.

TobyLerone Mon 16-Sep-13 16:09:58

Say what you really think...

Hazelbrowneyes Mon 16-Sep-13 16:16:51

My choices from your list:

Was also going to suggest Emmett but someone beat me to it!

DoItTooJulia Mon 16-Sep-13 18:58:55

I love Otiliie and Pearl. In fact, makes a nice name, Otillie Pearl.

I like Asa from the boys list, but really like Jesse. I know it's not on your list though!

NachoAddict Mon 16-Sep-13 19:03:39

Elsie Fern

Jude Lowen

I found it difficult to choose any that I liked that went together from your lists.

Love Elsie and Jude.

Love Otillie Pearl, that's really pretty smile

Emery Hart is rather lovely too.

I'm sure Jesse was on the list,it should be anyhow....

BikeRunSki Mon 16-Sep-13 19:52:56

I 'd choose Merryn and Innes, but I know your other dcs' s names and I think Merryn and Innes are a bit too mainstream in comparison.

DoItTooJulia Mon 16-Sep-13 19:54:22

And I like Ernest. We have similar tastes ans Ernest was on my list for my Arlo!

Giving this a little bump smile

I'd have to look over the lists again to pick ones I like but please please do not name a ds Beauregard!

grin

DSJamesHathaway Sat 21-Sep-13 10:18:31

Ariadna Flora
Ophelia Aldith

Artemis Oswin
Ulric Emery

Sylvie and Quinton. I love, love, love Sylvie!

What middle names would you use for Sylvie?

buzzgirly Sat 21-Sep-13 12:29:12

From your list I think Sylvie Ophelia sounds lovely.

If I get my Sylvie if I can convince dh to have a 3rd her middle name will be Isabella as its a family name.

Oriunda Sat 21-Sep-13 13:20:54

Ophelia Delphi
Rupert bartholomew

Not v keen on boys' list but lots of lovely girls' names

BoyMeetsWorld Sat 21-Sep-13 13:25:58

You've listed some of my all time favourite girls names. From your list, I'd go with Odette. Adore it. Or else Celeste or Ariella.

Not so keen on your boys names oddly enough unless you're Scandinavian? They don't seem quite natural. In the same kind of vein though, how about Oberon (nn Obie or Ronnie)?

Still loving Rufus or Asa for a boy, can't figure out good mn's though.

but really stuck for girls names....Flora is top of the list but I really want a back up...

Violet?
Pearl?
Ivy is getting too popular for my liking I think....

stopprocrastinating Fri 27-Sep-13 23:06:28

Sylvie Clementine

Rowan Barnabas

Swangirl Fri 27-Sep-13 23:28:51

I love Odin and Artemis but I would use Artemis as a girls name because in greek mythology she is a godness.
I also like Hesten and Enid

tammytoby Sat 28-Sep-13 07:18:24

Violet Clementine
Quentin Ivo

Auden Jude and Romilly Eliza.

I like Artemis too. What about Iona?

duchessandscruffy Sat 28-Sep-13 07:53:50

Beauregard? Really?

TheCountessOlenska Sat 28-Sep-13 07:59:31

OMG I've NEVER seen my name on a Mumsnet baby name list before! Pick me! (I can't tell you what it is though)

Umm - aside from that, I would pick Romilly and Roan off your list smile

Wilbur or Celeste
love your lists

Norah Maud is lovely.

Sarahplane Sat 28-Sep-13 11:47:09

I love Scout and Clara. Eliza and betsy are good too, you could go for Elizabeth which gives the option of betsy or Eliza as nicknames depending on what suits baby as she grows up.

Barnaby and Jude are nice. I think Scout could also work as a boys name but if it was inspired by To Kill a mocking bird how about Attitcus or Jem? I like Artemis as well.

Balthazar just reminds me of the evil wizard in the smurfs Phineas is cool but makes me think of Phineas and ferb which is a cartoon my DD loves.

TheCountess I need to know what your name is!!!

Ohmydarlin Sat 28-Sep-13 14:28:23

Clementine Nancy
Phineas Jude

ILoveMakeUp Sat 28-Sep-13 14:31:06

Wow! What lovely names! Easily the nicest list I've seen on MN. My choices:

Bonnie Clementine
Buckley Artemis.

ch1134 Sat 28-Sep-13 17:24:08

Nancy or Jude
