FingersCrossedLegsNot Fri 02-Aug-13 18:16:50

Oooh LOVING Lizzie (Flora has already been vetoed by my dh angry because of the margarine)

But could it just be Lizzie on the BC as I would not want Elizabeth as I have a ds called Eli!

BettyandDon Fri 02-Aug-13 18:18:58

Dottie as in Dorothy.

JakeBullet Fri 02-Aug-13 18:19:30

My grandmothers given name was Lizzie and is on her birth certificate. She hated it and always called herself Elizabeth as she felt it was grander grin.

I really like Lizzie too.

Some great suggestions

Ivy on the list but dh not on side!

Trixie...love, we have Beatrix on the list
Hettie
Florrie and Flossie I love both but can they be used for anything other than Florence which I love but is very popular!
Posy..great
Opal...great
Eliza is great but I can't have Eli and Eliza can I???

FingersCrossedLegsNot Fri 02-Aug-13 18:50:25

LOVE Kitty....I think I may do a whole other thread on that lol, it is moving up very high on the list (but just Kitty, I don't do the full name on the BC thing if I intend on only using the diminutive)

I like lizzie. Mil is Elizabeth nn Libby so I can't use it because she would think its after her (no way would I want her to think I think that much of her)

I think you can put anything on the bc. Who actually knows what's on there other than y and dh?

DBS gran was Maggie-Bella. Was meant to be Margaret Isabella but her father thought it was too posh for the daughter of a farmer.

I also like elspeth!

ChippingInHopHopHop Fri 02-Aug-13 18:51:53

Posy is 'ok' just don't call the next one Pip grin

As a 'heads up' every second newborn I meet at the moment is called Martha.

Pearl

ChippingInHopHopHop Fri 02-Aug-13 18:53:18

...and NO you can't have an Eli and am Eliza!!

Kitty reminds me of the old TV program 'The Sullivans' smile Haven't thought about that in years!

garlicagain Fri 02-Aug-13 18:58:49

Oh, and Joni and Billie

Eli and Elizabeth is only a problem if you let it, as she'll never be Elizabeth, especially if she's Libby or Lizzie from birth. I do think it's nice to have a "full name" just on the BC but I know lots of people don't think it matters.

Eli and Eliza is a different matter, that's like having a George and Georgina!

I love Elsie by the way. Much prefer it to Elsa and there's a beautiful children's book called "A Spoonful of Jam' with an Elsie in it which I love.

Flossy could conceivably be Felicity?

And, and, Renee.

FingersCrossedLegsNot Fri 02-Aug-13 19:09:04

Zita, Zelda, Winnie, Tessa , Daphne...all great. Primrose is already on the list!

FingersCrossedLegsNot Fri 02-Aug-13 19:10:28

Funny you talking about Kitty, I was thinking of this name this morning. My manager at work is called Kitty, she's only 30 and is a real high flyer. And then I heard someone on the radio called Kitty, I think she was an MP or something. So I don't understand the oh its not a birth certificate name thing, its never stopped these two because if it did they would have introduced themselves as Catherine.
