I am having a baby girl in November and am currently considering following names. Please could I have your honest opinions, also middle name will probably be Joy or Elizabeth:

Holly
Daisy
Jasmine
Willow

Thanks smile

MortifiedAdams Sun 21-Jul-13 19:29:30

Holly for me. Im sorry but I dont like the others.

baskingseals Sun 21-Jul-13 19:31:14

Oh definitely Willow. I think it's more unusual, and I like the sound of it

Kt1991 Sun 21-Jul-13 19:33:15

I love all of them smile And they all sound lovely with the middle name choices too. Willow has become a very popular girls choice most recently, I like how its different

fluffyraggies Sun 21-Jul-13 19:34:20

All nice.
I'm biased as i have a Daisy smile

Willow would be last on that list for me. Not sure Joy or Elizabeth goes with that name.

Serenity6 Sun 21-Jul-13 19:42:52

My favourites are Holly and Daisy smile

Rtfairy Sun 21-Jul-13 19:54:54

Thanks for the responses. My favourites are Holly and Jasmine and DP likes Daisy and Willow, although I do like them very much too. It's just so difficult trying to choose, I'm so indecisive!

VelvetStrider Sun 21-Jul-13 19:58:03

Holly. It's stronger and a bit less wafty than the others. I do prefer the spelling Hollie though, as it's not as obviously Christmassy.

EatYourCrusts Sun 21-Jul-13 19:59:18

I like Willow but Holly is my favourite.

Not keen on Daisy (I think it is to cutesy for a middle aged woman, and will date) but the others are very nice -- couldn't go wrong with any of the remaining three.

Jasmine Elizabeth (I would avoid Jasmine Joy as too many Js)
Holly Elizabeth (I would avoid Holly Joy as it is far too Christmassy)
Willow Joy
Willow Elizabeth

Daisy Joy is lovely.

lj123 Sun 21-Jul-13 20:15:21

Willow or daisy, more willow I think smile

CPtart Sun 21-Jul-13 20:27:57

Jasmine at a push.
Not really keen on any, I agree, rather twee.

ANormalOne Sun 21-Jul-13 20:30:15

Daisy and Willow, I have a cousin called Willow and one called Hazel, gorgeous names.

itsonlysubterfuge Sun 21-Jul-13 20:37:35

I like Willow and Holly. Perhaps you could wait and see what she looks like once you see scan or her if you can't decide.

Lionchair23 Sun 21-Jul-13 20:45:30

Holly by far more classic than the others. Holly Elizabeth is lovely .

TruJay Sun 21-Jul-13 22:09:34

My little sis is Daisy, well I say little she's actually 20 now and taller than me which she loves pointing out! She has always really suited her name and we've always loved it. She has 2 middle names, one of which is Elizabeth. Obv I am biased but Daisy Elizabeth is lovely! It has never seemed too much of a cute, babyish name for her so far in life and can't see it ever doing really.

I like Willow too

exoticfruits Sun 21-Jul-13 22:13:57

I am not keen on any but definitely not Willow.
Holly is the best, but spell it properly and not the suggestion of Hollie.

hawkmcqueen Sun 21-Jul-13 22:44:56

Love your names in this order:
Daisy, Jasmine, Willow and then Holly. The first three are so pretty and feminine, Holly is a bit stronger.

Wbdn28 Mon 22-Jul-13 09:20:43

They're all lovely names smile

josiejay Mon 22-Jul-13 12:33:16

I love Holly Joy but would be very Christmassy!

squoosh Mon 22-Jul-13 12:40:05

Willow is by far the best, it's the least twee.

littlepeas Mon 22-Jul-13 12:42:31

I see your dilemma - they are all lovely and am struggling to say which unlike best! I think Holly or Jasmine just about pip the others, although I agree with a pp that Williw has a lovely sound. Daisy brings up the rear, but still a very lovely name.

Rtfairy Mon 22-Jul-13 22:03:50

Thanks for the comments. Think it's going to be hard to make a decision and we may just decide once she's born. Would like to at least narrow it down to 2 before then though.

Shylepite Tue 23-Jul-13 01:38:37

Willow Joy smile

Sunnysummer Tue 23-Jul-13 03:59:10

Holly and Willow! Jasmine is also nice, but to me Daisy is gorgeous for a little girl but less for a grownup.

Wbdn28 Tue 23-Jul-13 09:37:54

Holly Elizabeth - too many Ls
Willow - Elizabeth - too many Ls
Holly Joy - combination is too Christmassy
Jasmine Joy - too matchy

Daisy Elizabeth - like
Jasmine Elizabeth - like
Daisy Joy - like
Willow Joy - like

Thank you for all the replies, we have now added Freya to the list, any thoughts on Freya in comparison to the other names on my list?

Writerwannabe83 Sat 27-Jul-13 21:06:54

Not sure on Willow - but only because personally I don't like children being named after non-name things I.e Willow Tree grin

My husband likes the name Jasmine but I'm not keen for the same reason - isn't that a herb or a flower of some sort???

All 4 of your 'options' are kind of flower/tree related, is that on purpose or pure coincidence??

I don't think any baby should be called Holly unless it is born on Christmas Day grin

I used to have a hamster called Daisy when I was younger, I loved her to pieces.

I like Daisy the most out of your list smile

Writerwannabe83 Sat 27-Jul-13 21:07:34

ps) I like Freya the most just because it is a 'name' name grin

squeak2392 Sun 28-Jul-13 02:51:08

I like Holly Elizabeth.

I'll admit to be biassed towards Holly, but I honestly just don't like Daisy and Jasmine.
Willow doesn't make me cringe like they do but I'm still not keen.

FetaCheeny Sun 28-Jul-13 10:45:16

I like Willow and Jasmine then Daisy. Think they are all nice but dislike Holly and Freya. Holly has been used far too much in my age group for me to still like it, and Freya is bland compared with the others. My only concern with Willow is would she get called Willy? I don't know any in real life so not sure.

looki Sun 28-Jul-13 11:36:14

None of them are to my taste but I like both your middle names!

Lainyneal30 Tue 30-Jul-13 22:35:48

I like Willow the best! I'm having a baby girl too but her surname will be Williams! Otherwise I would have Willow!

I like

Daisy Elizabeth (Was one of pour choices too!)
Freya Elizabeth

I agree Holly Joy too Christmassy.

The two Jasmines I have known have been shortened to Jaz which I don't like.
