MummyBurrows Tue 07-May-13 23:34:22

CheesyPoofs Wed 08-May-13 00:18:42

I don't know, how do you find out?

Rockinhippy Wed 08-May-13 00:29:57

List in HERE

You can scroll it to view more names

Mines not on it smile

MortifiedAdams Wed 08-May-13 00:45:43

There were only 13 girls in the UK given the same name as dd when she was born so I am not expecting it to be on the bottles.

CheesyPoofs Wed 08-May-13 00:49:06

Thanks smile
An abbreviation of my name is, but no one ever calls me my that particular abbreviation sad

DH's name is on smile

DD's isn't, but I didn't expect it to be

DD2 is, DD1 isn't. Poor little mite will never have a personalised pen etc!

hellhasnofurylikeahungrywoman Wed 08-May-13 04:32:14

Neither dd nor ds's name appears on that list

neverlateforwork Wed 08-May-13 04:35:42

Not me, not dh, not dd1 nor dd2.

Ds1's is, though. Frightfully common.

ripsishere Wed 08-May-13 04:45:34

Not mine, nor dH. DD is of course.

SoYo Wed 08-May-13 04:59:25

No personalised coke in our house. Mine, DH and DDs names are all missing. That's celtic names for you I suppose!

ENSMUM Wed 08-May-13 05:39:49

Ours are all there but only DD's is full. Mine, DH an DS in abbreviated versions that we don't use

Chubfuddler Wed 08-May-13 05:56:38

That's a list for New Zealand. STBXH's name is on bottles and its not on that list.

Whet is the point of this does anyone know?

catlady1 Wed 08-May-13 06:02:17

My DD's isn't. Mine is, but I suspect that's because it's a list for New Zealand, my name isn't that popular in the UK.

WhatKatyDidToday Wed 08-May-13 06:04:03

All my 3 are on there - good, solid names- not 'common' !

Chubfuddler Wed 08-May-13 06:14:21

After googling I have found they are doing the UKs most common 150 names. So I expect mine is out there somewhere but I haven't found one yet.

definatly not

OrangeLily Wed 08-May-13 06:27:43

None for me or DH. There are shortened versions of our names hut we aren't called by them.

wigglesrock Wed 08-May-13 06:32:06

2 of my 3 are, although my name was one of the Tennents lager tin names so we have form grin

Glittertwins Wed 08-May-13 06:37:06

DD's name is surprisingly on the list, DS's is by abbreviation only which is odd.

Glittertwins Wed 08-May-13 06:38:25

Posted without reading all of it...I don't expect DD's name to be on the UK version of the list then!

DolomitesDonkey Wed 08-May-13 06:40:31

Found my son (welsh name) in holland. Other son, not a chance!

NotMostPeople Wed 08-May-13 06:40:46

All of ours are. Are they in shops then?

puds11isNAUGHTYnotNAICE Wed 08-May-13 06:41:47

Niether my name or DD's name is on. Oh well, I'm used to it.

Wishfulmakeupping Wed 08-May-13 06:47:44

Does anyone know the Uk list?

feetheart Wed 08-May-13 06:56:14

Wow, both DC's names are on there which is a first (DD's on second 50 list).
Shame they don't like Coke smile

KenDoddsDadsDog Wed 08-May-13 07:24:43

soyo they have lots of Celtic / Gaelic names on the NI / ROI ones - I got Eóin, Cormac , Orla, Caoimhe on my hunt yesterday for the family. My name was even there.

KingRollo Wed 08-May-13 07:30:23

scottishmummy Wed 08-May-13 07:33:21

no.not listed

heronsfly Wed 08-May-13 07:36:31

Out of me, dh and 6dcs only 2 are there.

None but a couple of abbreviations we don't use.

KenDoddsDadsDog Wed 08-May-13 07:41:16

That list is the New Zealand one .

JulesJules Wed 08-May-13 07:43:25

DH's is, mine isn't, DDs aren't either.

One of the cats is (Sam) but not the other one (Buffy)

othersideofchannel Wed 08-May-13 11:19:22

The names that will be on there will obviously be the top 50 or so most popular names in New Zealand. Coke want to make money from this so obviously they'll only print the most common names.

None of our names are on there but we chose names that were not overused/common so I hope they're not on there smile.

monica77798 Wed 08-May-13 12:55:45

I am confused, is this in the UK, or just Australia and New Zealand? All the promotional stuff about it seems to be from down under

Secondme Wed 08-May-13 16:46:32

1/4 but he has a really common name. 2 have abbreviations that we never use and other one not at all, but not a chance.

Dillydollydaydream Wed 08-May-13 16:51:39

My name is on there but dh and the 3ds aren't.

KenDoddsDadsDog Wed 08-May-13 16:58:47

It's UK and Ireland this summer. One of my mates just got a Jemima!

Mine, all 4 DSs are on that NZ list. DH isn't.

I really want one!!

KenDoddsDadsDog Wed 08-May-13 17:28:18

They are everywhere !

MajorDivvy Wed 08-May-13 17:31:56

Abbreviations only in this house!
Mind you, I can only ever find abbreviations of my name - the joys of hyphens! Lol

MadameJosephine Wed 08-May-13 20:50:03

DS's name is there in full and shorter versions of mine, DP's and DD's

MiaowTheCat Wed 08-May-13 21:06:13

No one got the UK list up yet?

Depending on if they're doing the top 150 RECENT names, or names of current population - I'd expect hubby to be in the overall population list (slightly dated name but common at certain times)... if it's names of recent births - DD1 will probably be on there somewhere.

DD2 and myself - no chance... if my name did make it on it would be the more common spelling variant anyway.

KenDoddsDadsDog Wed 08-May-13 21:59:14

The website is not up yet, it can't be top names though and could be regional. Have got my whole team at work obsessed today - we got a Brian , Rob , Steven and Stephen in Asda!

KenDoddsDadsDog Sun 12-May-13 09:06:45
QueenofDreams Sun 12-May-13 09:13:59

Ok, on both those lists DP's name is there in abbreviated form. DS DD and I are not there. Mind you I never get anything with my name on because it's a rarely used Dutch name grin

Me, DH and DD2 are on. Poor DD1 will never get a named anything even though her name is pretty normal

Tortoise Sun 12-May-13 09:16:04

Only DS1 is on the UK list. Not surprised though really.

Mine was on the NZ list but only an abbreviation on the UK list. DH is on both and DD is on the UK list only. She's only one, don't know whether its sad to go out and find it for her!! grin

diddl Sun 12-May-13 09:25:59

None of us are on there.

Mind you, I never have been able to get personalised stuff!

ArgumentativeAardvark Sun 12-May-13 10:11:21

Weirdly my name is on there and DD's isn't. DD's name is much more common/classic/normal than mine.

DD's name was on the New Zealand list though.

KenDoddsDadsDog Sun 12-May-13 10:37:26

There is going to be a tour of shopping centres where you can make your own if your name isn't on the list.

Overcooked Sun 12-May-13 10:41:50

Nope, none of ours.

VinegarDrinker Sun 12-May-13 10:55:42

None of ours, bit surprised about DS as I thought his might be (definitely in top 100 recent baby names). Not at all surprised about me or DH, my name is unique and DH has a very Welsh name.

ReluctantlyBeingYoniMassaged Sun 12-May-13 10:59:16

They don't have my name or my son's. dp's is there though.

Both DC there on UK one.

ChippyMinton Sun 12-May-13 11:06:05

None of ours are there.

OnTheNingNangNong Sun 12-May-13 11:06:25

DH and my name are on the list ( feels onerous writing that) the DC are not on there, unsurprisingly.

MrsGeologist Sun 12-May-13 11:11:03

DH's name is there. None of the rest. Mine might be in Ireland, but no idea.

PregnantPain Sun 12-May-13 11:16:35

Page loaded straight on my DD's name ... weird. grin.
Short version of as yet unborn DS's name is there. Mine and DP's names aren't (but we have weird uncommon names..I like to think thats the reason at least grin)

BluddyNora Sun 12-May-13 11:35:11

Nope, mine isn't there, nor my DP or my two DS's

Mine is on the UK one as is ds's. The abbreviated form of dh's name (which everyone but me and his mum calls him grin) is on both but neither of the dds' names are there but I wouldn't have expected them to be as they are both unusual. Both dds' names are on the British one in their English versions though (their names are the Maltese versions of very normal British names)

Alisvolatpropiis Sun 12-May-13 15:01:57

I found my name the other day. It's not on the list in the above link though.

Januarymadness Sun 12-May-13 16:54:50

DD is there. DH and I aren't. Out names are not at all unusual but certainly "of an age"

nooka Sun 12-May-13 17:13:30

I've never come across my name on anything personalised and don't expect I ever will. I was however surprised that neither of my children's names on the UK list, as they are both pretty popular and have been for the last ten years. However dh's name is there, which makes me think that the demographic they looked at for names was adults not children (dh's name v popular in the 70s).

Slavetothechild Sun 12-May-13 17:32:54

One 1 of the 5 has a coke name sad and then it's a different spelling .

louisianablue2000 Sun 12-May-13 17:33:23

DH and I can get Coke bottles but the DC can't. Which is good because we have told them coke is for grown-ups (like wine wine), sadly DD1 is now onto us!

diddl Sun 12-May-13 18:35:37

Are people buying these, then?

What's the point of them?

JollyOrangeGiant Sun 12-May-13 18:40:57

DH and I are both on coke bottles. DS is not.

Prospective names for DC2 are not on the list either.

olivertheoctopus Sun 12-May-13 22:05:13

Neither of my DCs names are on the list.

Preposteroushypothesis Mon 20-May-13 21:34:52

Sooooo...before I saw the lists were on this thread I just tried to google if DDs name is on a coke bottle...I have discovered that there is a porn star with her name who does something presumably unsavoury with a coke bottle...I am now mentally scarred!

GaryBuseysTeeth Mon 20-May-13 21:57:48

DH is, DS isn't, nor are any of the names we're considering for DS2...there's more chance of hell freezing over than finding my name on one!

<brainbleach> for Preposterous!

cherhorowitz Mon 20-May-13 22:00:41

Mine and DP's names are. Youngest DD a maybe as I haven't found one yet but it's a pretty common name so probably but eldest DD probably not.

cherhorowitz Mon 20-May-13 22:02:56

Just checked the UK list. Youngest DD's name isn't on there! I'm surprised as it was on the Top 10 list of baby names the last I checked.

peachypips Mon 20-May-13 22:08:12

I know I'm not supposed to do this, but I don't care. Our names are relatively common and only DH on the list. He is Paul, I am Joanna, then DSs are Zachary and Charlie. Weirdness.

Breezy1985 Tue 21-May-13 08:11:10

DS is but he's got a top 10 name which has been in the top ten years.

No coke bottles for me or DD, I'm surprised about mine as I thought it was popular, knew there wouldn't be DD's her name is unusual.

thistlelicker Tue 21-May-13 08:13:27

I won't get my name on a bottle due
To the spelling! I'm rather sad about it haha

bruffin Tue 21-May-13 08:19:42

Got both dcs the other day. They collect bottles/cans anyway so nice to add to their collection.

MrsMaryCooper Tue 21-May-13 08:22:46

mine is and DS, DH has a rarer spelling so I doubt it

poppydaisy Tue 21-May-13 09:16:18

Coke will obviously only choose to print common names - so they can sell to lots of coke!

So, by definition, if your name is on their bottles, you're likely to share a name with lots of others. No surprises there really imo.

poppydaisy Tue 21-May-13 09:19:06

In fact, they use the most popular 150 names amongst all generations -have just looked at the names and they're indeed all very popular.

Wishfulmakeupping Tue 21-May-13 09:25:32

Mine and OH names there but dd's isn't which surprises me as its in top 100 girl names

poppydaisy Tue 21-May-13 09:31:31

They aren't using the current top 100 baby names but the top 150 most popular names over the past 30-40 years!

Weegiemum Tue 21-May-13 09:36:37

My girls are, my boy isn't.

But we avoid Coca-Cola anyway due to their crappy policies worldwide, Killercoke it's not a big deal to us, we won't buy it anyway.

poppydaisy Tue 21-May-13 10:33:39

Wow, didn't know that! We don't really buy coke due to it being basically pure sugar, but that would be another reason to avoid it!

Wishfulmakeupping Tue 21-May-13 15:16:57

Didn't realise that poppydaisy that makes sense now I thought there was some random names on there

Just came across this.
Zombie thread.

Yes my DDs name is on here.
She can't drink coke yet, but might buy it for my DP!

Got my name but spelt differently.
Got my Dads, Mums, sisters and DPs names too.

I might customise one for myself when it comes around to them later this summer.

Could do with a nice cool Cherry Cola right now .smile

WithASpider Wed 17-Jul-13 17:07:09

DD1 nope, DD2 not either. DH and DS are, Not mine though! Mind you the only place I've found mine was on a necklace at Jamaica Inn, and DD1 was one of fewer than 3 named in the UK the year she was born.

I may have to get ours made up.

tammytoby Wed 17-Jul-13 18:26:11

Seems like a good test to avoid the super popular names!
