But can't for any reason. Or you don't want to use it because it's a celebrity (or celebrity baby name).

I like harper and elton.

Kyrptonite Mon 06-May-13 18:24:39

Hendrix (DP has put this on the list though)

TidyDancer Mon 06-May-13 18:57:34

Yes to Harper. I love that name.

I also really like Mallory. I don't think I'd ever use it anyway, but couldn't because of the meaning (unlucky) and the Natural Born Killers connection!

exoticfruits Mon 06-May-13 19:09:14

I can't think of a single one! Not unless they have something sensible like Elizabeth.

exoticfruits Mon 06-May-13 19:09:44

Can't stand Harper.

PrincessOfChina Mon 06-May-13 19:12:15

Harper here too.

MortifiedAdams Mon 06-May-13 19:15:00

Olive (Drew Barrymores DD), as im just too damn scared. Considered Liv for DD, with no longer version but got the fear grin I would love love to use Olive for DD2 and use nn Liv.

Huckleberry (Bear Grylls son) has an awesome name but I live in a sea of Jacob, Ella, Sam names so he would stand out like a sore thumb.

recall Mon 06-May-13 19:16:49

Tiger lilly

Marnie. I might use Marina with Marnie as NN if I ever have a girl.

recall Mon 06-May-13 19:19:08

tidydancer I was going to call my son Mallory after George Mallory, but someone said it was sinister and could be unlucky sad

OrangeFootedScrubfowl Mon 06-May-13 19:22:49

DS was going to be Marnie if he had been a girl.

I bet thingummybob stole the name from my thread on here.

ZolaBuddleia Mon 06-May-13 19:55:50

Which sleb has a Marnie?

TidyDancer Mon 06-May-13 20:09:30

Recall - yeah, it's Juliette Lewis's character in NBK. That doesn't bother me as much as the unlucky thing. sad

TidyDancer Mon 06-May-13 20:09:52

Zola - Lily Allen. Ethel and Marnie.

180209cooper Mon 06-May-13 20:12:51

Love Harper for a boy but my husband says it would remind everyone of beck hams girl, do you all agree?

Huckleberry - love it,couldn't use it though, even I'm not that brave.

ZolaBuddleia Mon 06-May-13 21:15:44

Ah, I love Marnie.

MrsHuxtable Mon 06-May-13 22:07:51

Not a celebrity baby name as such but I love Phillipa/Pippa and feel that it's been ruined.

Mamuss Mon 06-May-13 22:14:46

I love Harper... And I'm a Marnie and happy so many like my name smile

ZolaBuddleia Tue 07-May-13 08:34:23

Brief hijack: Mamuss, are you Marnie on your BC?

Mamuss Tue 07-May-13 19:45:14

No I'm Hermione. Marnie for short smile

SleepyCatOnTheMat Tue 07-May-13 19:58:31

Tamsin Outhwaite also has a Marnie, in addition to a Florence.

I like Marlowe, a la Sienna Miller.

SleepyCatOnTheMat Tue 07-May-13 20:03:04

P.S. Yes, I think Harper is unusable now unless it's a family name.

NTMummy059 Tue 07-May-13 20:49:42

Love Harper! Think everyone would just assume it's 'copying' the Beckhams though sad

lovesmileandlaugh Tue 07-May-13 21:21:20

I loved Geri Halliwells Bluebell. She born days after my daughter, and it was absolutely perfect as there were in fact bluebells everywhere!

Cezella Wed 08-May-13 00:04:35

I childmind a Marnie Rose- she is very special and was born eighteen months before Lily Allen's!

Startail Wed 08-May-13 00:27:26

But blue bell was a goldfish.

No I haven't the foggiest idea why as aged about 8, I thought that was a sensible name for a goldfish.

Apple. There, I said it.

Olive is a lovely name and you should use out, poster who wants to.

I don't think of Olive as a celeb name. I used to know an old lady called Olive. She had a purple rinse and a tendency to get the giggles in church meetings. That's who I associate the name with.

Out = it. Sorry.

PinkApple86 Wed 08-May-13 12:49:14

Sunday Rose (Nicole Kidman I think) but a bit strange if not born on a Sunday. grin

TobyLerone Wed 08-May-13 12:52:14

TooTiredToBeCreative Wed 08-May-13 12:55:26

I love harper but as I am having a dd after 3 ds's I think the beckham reference would be too much!

lancaster Wed 08-May-13 12:55:26

UnrequitedSkink Wed 08-May-13 17:45:33

Honeysuckle (as in Honeysuckle Weekes). So far OTT as to be untrue but a gorgeous name anyway. And Rafferty or Raphael for a boy. Both got vetoed by my staid and boring DH.

UnrequitedSkink Wed 08-May-13 17:45:53

I do know a Harper though, she's 7 and gorgeous.

Rhubarbgarden Wed 08-May-13 20:58:45

Bluebell. Sodding Geri Halliwell.

3boysgirlontheway Thu 09-May-13 04:50:36

Harper, it was on my list and I crossed it off when Harper 7 was born. Hattie, Tori Spelling used it while I was pregnant and hormonally decided to remove it from my list of possibilities.

forgetmenots Thu 09-May-13 07:41:14

Like Harper too but would never have used it. Like Roman which a few slebs have used, and Dashiell.

Littlehousesomewhere Thu 09-May-13 10:10:58

I'm surprised people really like Harper, will probably become very popular. I can't get past the "harping on" association.

I like huckleberry and would love to use it as a middle name.

I also quite like suri but couldn't use it as its just too unusual.

I dont even know who baby olive is?

I like violet but worry it sounds like violent.

Littlehousesomewhere Thu 09-May-13 10:11:58

I do like marnie rose as well.

notso Thu 09-May-13 10:27:52

I love Harper and Winston.

I would've used Olive, Violet or Ramona but DH vetoed them.

notso Thu 09-May-13 10:30:00

I also quite like cutesy middle names like Jamie Olivers Boo, Honey, Rainbow and Bear but I would never use them.

My nanna was called Marnie. Nn for Marjorie.

Moonunit has a ring to it

MolotovCocktail Thu 09-May-13 11:00:15

Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily; Peaches Honeyblossom - OMG, I love those names!

All of Paula Yates' daughters have wackily beautiful names :-) Let's notforget Little Pixie and Fifi Trixibelle (that's right, isn't it?) grin

Ezza1 Fri 10-May-13 12:24:08

I love Scout.

Wouldntyouliketoknow Sat 11-May-13 19:01:34

I also like Harper, and love Nahla (Halle Berry's daughter)

Exhaustipated Sat 11-May-13 19:13:05

I love Ramona and Gloria, Maggie Gyllenthaal's (sp?) daughters. DH wasn't into Gloria, and I went off Ramona although it was very nearly DD's name.

Just couldn't get over the 'moaner' sound.

Have to say I pretty strongly dislike Harper.

BoyMeetsWorld Sun 12-May-13 07:42:29

I love Bluebell too.

& Phaedra, although I know everyone says its awful...I liked it before PG used it

Jayne266 Sun 12-May-13 20:09:38

For some reason this thread has gone from my I'm on list.

What do you think of angelo (adele's little boys name)
