Lots of girls! It's a lovely name, but I can think of 5 Scarlets or Scarletts without really trying.

Passion, life, irrepressible.

It is a pretty name, but for me it will always be hers now x

Feisty, feminine, lovely... until someone calls her Scar for short, then it's bad Uncle in the Lion King.

GW297 Sat 23-Mar-13 17:30:38

Red and Scarlett woman. I do quite like it as a name though I think.

ReluctantBeing Sat 23-Mar-13 17:32:37

Alarm bell on a register! Sounds like a trouble maker.

TiredFeet Sat 23-Mar-13 17:36:05

Until recently, gone with the wind. But now know of several little girls/ babies called Scarlett, all known as 'Scar' after a few months. Scarlett I sort of think is ok, but Scar is awful

FlipFlopFloss Sat 23-Mar-13 17:43:38

Love it. The only Scarlett I know is known as Letty.

TiredFeet Sat 23-Mar-13 17:46:39

Ooh letty is a sweet nickname, I like that.

And Gone With The Wind.

VBisme Sat 23-Mar-13 18:17:13

Gone with the wind, and I agree, Letty is a lovely NN, (really don't like Scar, which she might decide on when she's a rebellious teen).

I once knew of sisters called Scarlett and Ruby. I was dying for their mum to have a little boy called Red or Rufus.

MidnightMasquerader Sat 23-Mar-13 18:52:59

Gone With The Wind.

Alternatively, a name very much 'having a moment'.

mayanna123 Sat 23-Mar-13 19:00:25

A little scar.

Jellykat Sat 23-Mar-13 19:29:06

I love Scarlet, it was going to be DS1 or 2s name if they weren't DS1 or 2.

CPtart Sat 23-Mar-13 19:38:41

A right little madam

mathanxiety Sun 24-Mar-13 06:11:48

Being completely mortified - Dublin expression 'I was scarlet' meaning utter embarrassment. Also an Irish setter I used to know.

OkayHazel Sun 24-Mar-13 15:14:19

Best friend from school was Scarlett. Gorgeous woman now.

lljkk Sun 24-Mar-13 15:15:16

Brown hair, pasty skin & a bit pudgy. That describes the girls I know with the name.

GardenPath Mon 25-Mar-13 05:28:04

It'll date, I'm afraid. Think of it when you have to scream it across a schoolyard/park/airport.

Miss Scarlett in the library with the lead piping
