Which would you pick? smile

TinyDiamond Sat 23-Feb-13 21:38:47

one of the first two, I know one of each already, not too keen on kitty though

Bowlersarm Sat 23-Feb-13 21:38:57

India or Kitty both gorgeous

None of them really, India is very middle class aspirational and will date horrible (IMO), Kitty is a nickname, could you go with Katherine?

Happysurprise Sat 23-Feb-13 21:44:15

Beatrix smile

Happysurprise Sat 23-Feb-13 21:46:41

Bea as a nickname is very sweet for a little girl (and family as she grows up). And Beatrix in full could be a creative type or high flying professional. Nice a strong name whilst being feminine and unique.

BNmum Sat 23-Feb-13 21:51:15

+1 for Beatrix

Haberdashery Sat 23-Feb-13 21:52:26

Beatrix, definitely.

blondieminx Sat 23-Feb-13 21:53:06

My aunt was Kitty and she was a wonderful woman smile

vamosbebe Sat 23-Feb-13 21:53:49

India pretentious, Beatrix nice (nn Bea suitable for any age), Kitty... are you gestating a cat?

Rhubarbgarden Sat 23-Feb-13 22:00:12

India would be my choice. Kitty is also nice. I'm not fond of Beatrix.

DottieDaisy Sat 23-Feb-13 22:04:08

Oh thanks for the feedback so far. Well if I went with Beatrix we would definitely use nn Bea. If we went with Kitty it would be just that on the birth cert!

Beatrixpotty Sat 23-Feb-13 22:23:40

India or Beatrix.
Kitty v sweet for little girl but not so sure it will wear well through to adulthood.

Anja1Cam Sat 23-Feb-13 22:27:39

If anything of the three go for the spelling Beatrice? ending in 'ix' makes me think of 'Dominatrix' hmm

Not India as that's the name of one of Katie Hopkins' daughters.

yousankmybattleship Sat 23-Feb-13 22:32:08

Beatrix. Beautiful name. Kitty is nice too. India is dreadful. Sorry.

DottieDaisy Sun 24-Feb-13 11:59:00

So Beatrix seems to be getting the vote so far....aaahhh, so difficult to decide!

Gwennan Sun 24-Feb-13 12:12:28

Beatrix for me too.

But if you're disappointed we're saying Beatrix and not one of the others then there you have it: you don't like Beatrix enough. Cross it off your list.

Equally, if you wish we were saying Kitty or India, you know that's your favourite.

DottieDaisy Sun 24-Feb-13 12:22:57

Gwennan good point!

Blanketsandpillows Sun 24-Feb-13 14:19:50

Beatrix (but I'm planning to call baby if its a girl Beatrice so that's my sort of name). Then Kitty which I also like. I really don't like India.

OooShiney Sun 24-Feb-13 14:27:02

I already have a Beatrice and I am considering Kitty [Katherine] for DC2 due in 6 weeks.

Cherrypi Sun 24-Feb-13 14:35:38

I like all three. Particularly Beatrix with the nickname Trixie.

Lighthousekeeping Sun 24-Feb-13 14:37:15

We have two of them!

Lighthousekeeping Sun 24-Feb-13 14:38:13

Trixie is a cool name.

racingheart Sun 24-Feb-13 14:42:42

Beatrix, definitely. Love it. Agree that India is trying too hard and Kitty isn't a real name. It's a close friend's nickname, but she is Katharine.

I like India the most

FellatioNels0n Sun 24-Feb-13 17:57:09

I don't like Beatrix at all. I quite like India and Kitty, equally.

nectarini1983 Sun 24-Feb-13 20:03:28

1000% India!!!! Love it!!!

Kitty = cat!

Beatrice = Potter!!

No contest!!!

itsakindarabbit Sun 24-Feb-13 21:10:00

Adore Beatrix. Kitty reminds me of her out of X factor, the mad one!!

MagzFarqharson Sun 24-Feb-13 21:28:44

Kitty! My beautiful DD3 chooses to call herself this (real name Katie). And we have nothing to do with cats, as it goes.

Beatrix is nice, but can't help thinking about a) Peter Rabbit or b) that joke about the bloke in the pub juggling a pint of lager, a pint of bitter and a pint of

SissySpacekAteMyHamster Mon 25-Feb-13 04:50:44

We have an India in the family, grown woman, ages well, as started off as Indy when little.

Quite like Bea.

Don't like Kitty... sorry.

Astley Mon 25-Feb-13 14:22:29

I love Beatrix. Strong yet beautiful.

I also really like India.

Kitty is nice for a child, but not for an adult.

Bue Mon 25-Feb-13 15:30:11

Kitty - absolutely not without a proper birth certificate name. She needs a more adult option. I'd go with Beatrix but I like India too.

Northernbynature Mon 25-Feb-13 16:27:16

Unless you want to look and sound like a woman looking for her cat in the playground, shouting 'Kitty, Kitty' and/or you want your child to think you named her after a cat, keep 'Kitty' for a nickname and perhaps call her Kate or

TiredyCustards Tue 26-Feb-13 07:45:12

Love Kitty for a girl, how about Felicity as her full name to use later if she wants to?

BinarySolo Tue 26-Feb-13 08:07:07

akissisnotacontract beat me too it! No to India as it's one Katie Hopkins daughters. (I use the same logic to veto Max with my dh!)

Not sure how Kitty will work as she gets older, though it is a lovely little girls name.

Beatrix is a good solid name and bea is rather sweet. I can imagine decorating things for her with bees and honey type motifs which could be quite cute.
