Unusual but fabulous sibling combinations

I know 3 siblings, all in their 20s, named Basil, Spike and Jemima.

I can't help but think how badass their parents must be! I envisage the whole family as really cool post-punk types. The kids are really great, upstanding people. I'm a little bit in awe to be honest!

Have you ever come across siblings whose names are odd, but it just somehow works?

TheChimpParadox Thu 21-Feb-13 16:22:03

Thomas Richard and Henry (aka Harry)

peanutMD Thu 21-Feb-13 16:22:46

I realise that none of these are particularly weird names but I think they are rather funky combinations grin

sw11mumofone Thu 21-Feb-13 21:27:12

LOVE Caspar and Milo! I was in a park the other day and a mum was yelling "Zebedee! Zebedee!!! come here NOW!!!" I also worked with a doctor called Buzz. Not a nickname, not an abbreviation (although not sure what it would be for anyway....). He was spectacularly humourless. Unsurprising really imo.....

Faith, Hope and Kevin was a particular favourite of mine from an MN thread a while back.

Girl I knew had step-family called "Phoebe, Noah, Merrily and Rufus"
This was 20 years ago.

When I was little (mid 80's) there were twins on our street called Chelsea and pepper - I often wonder if pepper likes her name now she's a woman in her 30's - what a brave combo though!

Achangeofnamus Fri 22-Feb-13 23:04:27

Shane, Sheena, Sheldon, Sala, and Shaun.

OliviaKnowsBestMumsnet (MNHQ) Fri 22-Feb-13 23:07:23

amistillsexy Fri 22-Feb-13 23:11:43

When I was a kid my parents had friends with DCs called Damon and Dorcas.

I don't remember meeeting them, but the family would send us books every Christmas, and write 'Love From Damon and Dorcas'.

I didn't work out what sex they were until I was in my 20s! grin

Rhubarbgarden Fri 22-Feb-13 23:26:44

Xigris I know a Buzz too. I wouldn't say he's exactly humourless but he is painfully shy and very retiring. I know a shy Spike too funnily enough. They're not related though, so I've wandered off topic, sorry.

acrabadabra Fri 22-Feb-13 23:41:47

Gulliver and Zebedee.
