Esme is lovely, or how about Edith now Edith Bowman has made it trendy ?
Willow is pretty too.

Esme means "to love" which is cute.

Congratulations thanks

Enjoy !

im pretty guttered that willow is so popular id never heard of it. sad

Rhubarbgarden Fri 08-Feb-13 11:28:36

Well I think it depends where you are. I've never met a Willow. How about Fern or Clover instead?

Astley Fri 08-Feb-13 12:24:46

I have never met a Willow, I think it's lovely.

I am a big, big fan of Esme too.

Floralnomad Fri 08-Feb-13 12:58:08

Mortifiedadams... What area do u live in? I only know of one Willow & have it on my list. Is it becoming very popular?
It's my favourite on your list OP.

Pops my sister is Carla and I have never, ever seen it come up on a baby name thread! That just made me really happy!

I love Willow too.

I have on my list (not Pg but TTC)

Phoebe
Alexia
Georgia
Alisa
Amelia

smile

might be quite popular but im not bothered as i like the names smile

ohmygoshtake2yay Fri 08-Feb-13 16:18:44

i love willow. i was thinking willow grace??
im from nottingham if that makes differance!

ive just come back from center parcs and heard the names ella/eve/evie loads.

fren is pretty but makes me think of fern cotton smile

Astley Fri 08-Feb-13 17:09:32

Oh Willow Grace is stunning.

Go for a name you love, not one you want just to be different.

ohmygoshtake2yay Fri 08-Feb-13 17:22:04

thank you astley im glad you like it!!

MoonHare Fri 08-Feb-13 17:47:59

Some lovely ideas here OP. I love Esme too and have one but I'm led to believe its gaining hugely in popularity - not as fast as Willow though, which while not top 50 did go from only 24 babies named this in 1996 to 511 in 2010. I know one who is 4yrs old.

Queenie68 Fri 08-Feb-13 18:29:19

Moonhare... Where do u get your stats from please? Would love to get some more info....

MoppingMummy Fri 08-Feb-13 19:36:10

There are hundreds of Ellas, Evies and Isabellas around. I have an Esme & have never met another Esme or Willow despite having 3 children aged 1-9, attending lots of toddler groups & being a teacher! grin

ohmygoshtake2yay Fri 08-Feb-13 21:04:52

i also like erin. i found out we were having a girl yesterday and tbh i really thought i was having another boy and had my heart set on casper DS is called finley.
girls names are so much harder to think of then boys. so thanks for your help xx

RobinSparkles Fri 08-Feb-13 21:08:29

I think that Esme is on the rise. I have met two recently - one toddler and one newborn. I think it's lovely though!

Willow Grace is very pretty - lovely to hear you're having a girl ...
I've got one of each and they've been great friends by the way smile

MoonHare, bear in mind that 1996 was the year befor Buffy the Vampire Slayer started; you would expect Willow to rise in popularity after that. It doesn't mean that it is rising fast now.

badtime Sun 10-Feb-13 12:21:53

before, nor befor

badtime Sun 10-Feb-13 12:23:03

not, not nor blush

NowPlayingZone Sun 10-Feb-13 15:17:15

Think moonhare's stats are from names.darkgreener.com. It's a fab site.

2012 rankings show Esme as 62nd & Willow 65th. Erin 32nd!

I prefer Erin of your choices but maybe keep all three in mind til she's here. One of them may just suit here best.

aufaniae Mon 11-Feb-13 15:02:38

Willow and also Esme are both lovely IMO smile

Not too keen on Grace tbh. It's a lovely name in its own right, but Grace Rose and May are the default middle names of our time, it seems almost every little girl born in the last few years has one of these as their middle name! i just couldn't bring myself to do it!

But if popularity doesn't bother you go for it!

Yes I was looking at darkgreener.com - so interesting and useful for trend spotting.
