Baby no 5 due in 5-6 weeks & I'm finding it soooo hard to find names I truly love. We have 4 boys & haven't found out the gender of our new addition. Preparing for a boy but would like to have a girls name ready... Just in case!
We have.....
Finley age 14
Eddison age 13
Archer age 10
Rafferty age 8
Please rate these names & which combos sound best... I have complete brain fag & am no longer responsible to make such a big decision smile)

Jackson DH loves this but it's Raffertys middle name so I'm not keen
Millen ( my fav!)
Montgomery (Monty)

Willow (prob as a middle name)
Ava DH loves this but we have a niece called Eva... Thoughts please
Thanks in advance......

Ham69 Sun 20-Jan-13 23:21:48

I know a Rafferty with a younger brother called Montgomery (Monty). That's my favourite by far. He's also one of 5!

Out of girls I like Kitty.

Queenie68 Sun 20-Jan-13 23:23:45

How spooky! What are the other siblings names? We must have similar taste!

eachtigertires Sun 20-Jan-13 23:24:37

My pick would be Franklin for a boy or Bella for a girl. Millen makes me think of Karen Millen (women's clothes), Monty sounds like a name for a pet (sorry!) and Fletcher makes me think of Porridge.

Ava is nice and Indiana (but since I lived there it seems odd as a name now iyswim) but I don't like Kitty - just seems quite cutesy. Willow is a good mn though.

Ruprekt Sun 20-Jan-13 23:25:08

I like Franklin out of all of them.

I know a Rafferty with a brother called Willoughby. Will for short.

MustafaCake Sun 20-Jan-13 23:25:20

Wow what lovely names your children have!

From your lists I like Frankie and Kitty best.

Queenie68 Sun 20-Jan-13 23:27:37

Love Willoughby... Definitely adding that to the list smile)

Aspiemum2 Sun 20-Jan-13 23:28:23

I like monty best from the boys. Not got any feelings either way about the girls apart from Ava (which I hate, sorry)

BouncyPenguin Sun 20-Jan-13 23:28:25

What about Quinn? Means 5. Could be for a girl or a boy. I like Kitty as it can be shortened to Kit. I prefer India to Indiana. Of all your boys names I prefer Franklin as I like Frankie. I like Ava but it is becoming very popular. Willow and Bella both nice. Never heard of Millen. Could be a winner! With 4 boys you must have your hands full! I have 2 and that's enough for me.

scrumpkin Sun 20-Jan-13 23:29:54

I think it is a girl and you should name her Olive smile

Aspiemum2 Sun 20-Jan-13 23:30:26

Kit for a boy is lovely, I know twins called kit and monty - they are such cute little dudes grin. Explains my being partial to the names

Queenie68 Sun 20-Jan-13 23:35:28

Thanks all for such a speedy response. Off to bed now feeling slightly less stressed about the whole name thing! Don't remember it being so difficult before!

DessieLou Mon 21-Jan-13 05:52:59

I was going to say Quinn, too! Would definitely avoid Ava if there's an Eva in the family. From your list I'd say Indiana (indie) for a girl and Fletcher for a boy. Love Fletcher! Also, how about Flynn? What about Ada instead of Ava? Good luck!

evamummy Mon 21-Jan-13 07:18:39

Definitely Quentin (Quinn) as it is derived from Quintus meaning fifth in Latin. Also think it goes really well with your other boys' names (which are lovely!).

evamummy Mon 21-Jan-13 07:20:44

From your girls suggestions I like Ava and Willow best.

catinboots Mon 21-Jan-13 08:34:53

Montgomery is the one

Queenie68 Mon 21-Jan-13 09:01:14

Thanks for all your opinions. Quinn is lovely but we call DS1 Fin most of the time so think it sounds too similar? Yes I think Ava is too similar to Eva but DH thinks it would be ok??! I love Fletcher but trying to avoid using the same initial as DS1. Today's choice is...
Millen Fletcher
Kitty Willow
But it could all change in the next few hrs!!
Why am I so indecisive ??!

Reaa Mon 21-Jan-13 09:28:37

How about Neo or Kit?

P.s I had 4 boys and my number 5 was our first DD.

Reaa Mon 21-Jan-13 09:34:09

The above suggestion are for a boy, for a girl Electra, Autumn, Rose, Amber-Leigh or just Leigh.

NowPlayingZone Mon 21-Jan-13 09:43:00

Sorry, but only like Monty & franklin out of your choices. Agree that Ada would be a good alternative to Eva.

Queenie68 Mon 21-Jan-13 10:11:14 u have a Kitty? Think I saw this in another post? It's definitely my fav girls name just slightly worried about the cat connection! Does everyone buy her "Hello Kitty" merchandise?!
Starting to be drawn to Montgomery again.....flipping heck!!
Reaa..... So much pressure from people hoping this one is a girl... I'm just praying I have a healthy baby as it was a complete shock ( miracle!) to discover I was pregnant after all his time... I thought it was my menopause starting smile

scrivette Mon 21-Jan-13 10:24:30

Monty is lovely, it goes well with the other names.

I love Amity for a girl, unfortunately DH doesn't confused

DuchessFanny Mon 21-Jan-13 10:32:28

I like Monty and Willow .... But also really like Quinn !

Reaa Mon 21-Jan-13 10:49:28

Our DD was a shock I was expecting another boy, everyone else other than my auntie said boy too. Like you said I only wanted a healthy baby but it was still a huge shock.

Kitty Is lovely and willow is lovely but Kitty Willow = Pussy Willow imo.

Claire2009 Mon 21-Jan-13 10:59:32

Fletcher - love it

Claire2009 Mon 21-Jan-13 11:00:03

goinglone Mon 21-Jan-13 11:02:38

rainbow2000 Mon 21-Jan-13 11:04:02

Willow love this always had this if i had a girl
Dakota same as above
I think Ava, Eve are to popular there would be loads around.

birdofthenorth Mon 21-Jan-13 11:06:09

Franklin and Kitty are both brilliant

BouncyPenguin Mon 21-Jan-13 11:06:49

bigbluebump Mon 21-Jan-13 12:47:59

My favourites are Monty and Kitty from your list but I also love Quentin/Quinn.

amck5700 Mon 21-Jan-13 13:03:16

What about Kizzy instead of Kitty? both short for Katherine.

sunnyday123 Mon 21-Jan-13 13:18:25

Love monty and franklin. Along like Felix and ned?

Really not keen on kitty sorry. How about ramona? Ava very popular but still nice. Olive, nancy, clementine, pearl?

sunnyday123 Mon 21-Jan-13 13:19:09

Oh I'd avoid bella due to the twilight saga! Very popular with young mums these days!

Kaekae Mon 21-Jan-13 14:07:07

I really like Ada my friend named her daughter this and is a nice change from the popular Ava. I LOVE Monty, would use it myself if I ever had anymore children.

Ham69 Mon 21-Jan-13 18:00:29

Hi Queenie, in response to your question, the other siblings are Milo, Gabriel and Dashwood (think he was Dashiell until he was registered and my friend had a change of heart!)

MoonHare Mon 21-Jan-13 18:37:44

Jackson - I wouldn't since it's one of your DS's middle name.
Millen - never heard this as a name before, not sure
Fletcher - would be developing a theme with Archer, do you want to?
Franklin(Frankie) - OK
Montgomery (Monty) - OK

Kitty - lovely
Willow - OK as a middle name
Bella - alwaysakes me think of Bella Emburg but younger people will be thinking of the more glamorous twighlight connection
Indiana - no, India is OK though
Ava - I do think it's too close to Eva to use but it depends - how close are you to your niece?

From your lists I like Kitty and Monty best, they fit very well with your other DCs names.

Other ideas - Boys; Griffin, Wyatt, Heath, Rohan, Bailey. Girls; Esme, Elsa, Polly, Ivy, Verity, Vita.

Lafaminute Mon 21-Jan-13 18:43:33

Don't like Fletcher with Archer - the same trade. Really like Willow for a girl. Willoughby or Monty for a boy.

Queenie68 Mon 21-Jan-13 19:22:39

Omg... Didn't even think of the connection between Archer & Fletcher, thanks for pointing that out guess I will have to strike that one off our list!

Also have always loved the name Tallulah but DSs not keen as a first name sad Please rate....
Kitty Willow
Kitty Tallulah

DessieLou Mon 21-Jan-13 19:25:38

Kitty Tallulah for me. Kitty Willow reminds me of pussy willow. :-)

LeChatRouge Mon 21-Jan-13 19:37:56

What about being inspired by Stella McCartney and going for Miller (as opposed to Millen) or Beckett?

Ham69 Mon 21-Jan-13 21:26:12

Another coincidence, Queenie. My friend liked Talullah but, after 5 DS's, ended up getting a dog and giving her that name!!

NAR4 Tue 22-Jan-13 09:34:27

I think Fletcher and Willow go best with your other children's names.

I'm expecting my fifth in 3 weeks and we still don't have a name. My brain feels too fried to think that much. I am desperately hoping for inspiration to suddenly hit. You are doing far better than me.

Queenie68 Tue 22-Jan-13 10:03:23

So good to hear other mums are going for no5! I've been feeling very much in the minority! Good luck smile

Yfronts Tue 22-Jan-13 13:15:32

Rafferty is fab. Monty sits nicely with it. What about Inigo or Willoughby for a boy

Queenie68 Wed 23-Jan-13 11:01:22

Met a woman yesterday who had a son called Chester. Thought this would go nicely with other DSs names. Thoughts please....!

Hedwig3 Wed 23-Jan-13 11:14:36

Chester would go well.

Also Kester nn Kit

Allthesanityinme Wed 23-Jan-13 11:20:59

Franklin is my favourite out of your suggestions I also really like Tallulah for a girl, what about

Letty (Letitia)

Queenie68 Wed 23-Jan-13 23:01:39

Love Bluebell as a poss middle name.
Kitty Bluebell??

KatherinaMinola Wed 23-Jan-13 23:07:28
