Surname very popular one beginning T! What suits best? Any nice alternatives for inspiration? Thanks

From your list probably Stella followed by Lois.

How about; Esme, Kitty, Eliza, Phoebe, Harriet, Verity, Polly, Libby.

Ha. I have an Oscar and if DS2 had been a DD she would have been called Lucy.

I also really like Elizabeth (nn Elsie).

LynetteScavo Sun 20-Jan-13 19:30:42

Ruby - I love it but too popular.

Scarlett and Lucy also very popular.

Please don't go for Stella I really don't like it

Lois and the best from your list.

Honor is nice, but not so good with Oscar.

Yes, Pheobe is nice.

forgetmenots Sun 20-Jan-13 20:25:46

I think of Oscar as being quite continental, so you could get away with something a bit more daring, like Phoebe, Claudia, Esme or Honor mentioned above. Don't think Ruby or Stella go at all! Some other ideas:

Not firing on all cylinders tonight but I think basically Oscar is fab and you don't want his sister having an ordinary name. I like Scarlett from your list.

I know an Oscar who has a sister called Mia and hae always thought those names sound great together.

I know a lovely Oscar who has a very sweet little sister called Amber.

I like Lucy but it is quite popular which may not be a great idea if you have a popular surname. Lois is nice too. Not very keen on the others. Honor is nice but is quite difficult to say with Oscar

Really like Elin, Anya and Elena, also

Constance (Connie)

Love Stella

Have you considered:

Anonymumous Sun 20-Jan-13 23:26:21

Oh come on, it just has to be Emmy! grin

seeker Sun 20-Jan-13 23:32:43

The Oscar I know has a sister called Miranda.

Lucy is lovely.
Just so you know, Lois is pronounced "Loyce" (rhymes with Joyce) in Wales. Might be an issue for baby should she move here one day.

DessieLou Mon 21-Jan-13 06:10:38

Lucy or Lois sound good with Oscar. How about lacey? Sasha? Although you probably want to avoid names ending in 'a'. Tierney? Charlotte? May? Hailey? seren?

JollyRedGiant Mon 21-Jan-13 06:19:03

Rosie smile

Harrysmummysarah1 Mon 21-Jan-13 06:55:58

Love Stella

LynetteScavo Mon 21-Jan-13 09:06:52

Now, I disagree, I think names ending in a go well with Oscar.

LynetteScavo Mon 21-Jan-13 09:07:20

Can you tell I've given this a lot of thought? wink

OhMyNoReally Mon 21-Jan-13 09:12:33

Lola, Bethan or Seraphine and I do know an Oscar with a Charlotte, a Masie and a Gracie as sisters. Congratulations.

birdofthenorth Mon 21-Jan-13 09:15:05

Honor is gorgeous but not so great with Oscar.

Lois is really really lovely, so gets my vote.

farmersdaugther Mon 21-Jan-13 10:26:00

We have an Honor and have discounted Oscar as we feel its too 'Ooo' but that's just us. {not helpful}

From your list I like Scarlett.

I think for some reason Juliette or Odette. Or even Vivienne.

Ihatepeas Mon 21-Jan-13 13:10:18

Love Stella. Like them all actually, least faves are Ruby and Scarlett.

My first thought was Oscar and Beatrice?

Kaekae Mon 21-Jan-13 14:03:56

I know an Oscar and Lara and Oscar and Ella.

BobbiFleckmann Mon 21-Jan-13 14:06:40

they're not going to spend their entire lives next to each other, so pick the name you like the most, rather than one that "matches".
Honor gets mistaken for Donna and Americans don't understand it at all (i speak from experience)

Obviously the one that really does go with Oscar would be Emmy, to get the full awards season sweep...

Dynababy Tue 22-Jan-13 19:55:02

Thanks everyone, food for thought hmmmm smile Think I've gone off Honor because of how it sounds with Oscar despite thinking that was fav about a week ago! Think next fav is Ruby .... I just love it but is sooooo common, although I'm in Scotland so a bit less so here than in England.. I think everyone thinks its run of the mill now though which is off putting.... Decisions decisions!!

forgetmenots Tue 22-Jan-13 20:20:14

I'm in Scotland too dyna. Ruby is much less common here, so might be less of a gap than if in England?

I like Lois from your list.

I know an Oscar & Lucia and an Oscar & Sofia.

SavoyCabbage Tue 22-Jan-13 20:56:25

I know an Oscar and Emilie and an Oscar and Ruby.

Oscar & Sofia are nice togther I think, as are Oscar and Ella. Watching with nosey interest. Our neighbours have an Oscar and a new daughter and last week were still undecided on the little one's name smile
