Inspiration needed - names that go with Aaron & Joshua

Got ages to go but this time really can't think of any names we like so we're trying to put some thought into it now to see what grows on us. Hopefully we'll find out if we're having a boy or a girl next month but for now, we're looking more at boys names as we both have a strong feeling it will be another boy.

So, we have Aaron and Joshua at the moment, any thoughts as to what goes well with these names?

Thanks smile

Are you wanting to stick with or break away from the O.T. feel?

LineRunner - just want something that 'goes'. Our current names were chosen just because they were names we liked at the time. Well, I always liked Joshua but dh really wanted Aaron for our first (as Elvis' middle name and he's a big Elvis fan! wink), when ds1 was born I looked at him and actually thought yes he looks like an Aaron so I agreed to that. I was sure Ds2 was going to be a girl and we both agreed on Amelia but when we found out he was a boy, we decided to go back to the name we were originally going to use for Ds1.

HelpOneAnother - I will start the list with that and see what dh thinks smile

So maybe Bibilical but not too Biblical, eg

Adam
David
James
John
Benjamin

Jesse was the name of Elvis' stillborn twin brother - I struggle as to whether it is a really nice thing given your husband being a fan or whether it is a bit odd.

Thanks for all the ideas and sorry for not coming back soon (pregnancy problems and was worried about thinking names in the end!).

Anyway, will have a look through these suggestions as he was confirmed as another boy and we're struggling with names.

Thanks smile

Me again, still struggling with names and got 5 weeks to go now. There are lots I like suggested here but whatever I like, dh doesn't! GRRRR. His top 4 names at the moment are:

Miles
Aiden
Reece
Hayden

And he's now muttering 'Marlon'. We did have a much longer list from a couple of nights ago but he's just gone through it again and changed his mind about most!

I do want his middle name to be Joe or Joeseph (after my grandfather I never met) so something to go with that would be great.

Any other ideas or thoughts on hubby's choices above?

x

Lyftiduft Sat 11-May-13 22:06:17

Aiden is too similar to Aaron imo.
Miles ok.
I'd spell Rhys not Reece, think it goes well with your other boys (the sound and I think that spelling looks better with the two OT names as well).
Don't like Hayden.

Rhys Joseph would be my choice of those listed. Good luck!

Biscuitsneeded Sat 11-May-13 22:29:09

Not sure those 4 names go with your existing two. I'd stick with more traditional, biblical names. Isaac? Daniel? Caleb? Nathaniel?

looneytune Sat 11-May-13 23:04:26

Lyftiduft - very similar to me then! smile I said Aiden was too much like Aaron and I also don't really like Hayden. I like Miles in general but Im not sure how I feel about it for my own if that makes sense. And yes, my favourite is Rhys (spelt that way) but dh said he'd only be happy with Reece as the other spelling is the Welsh way. Tbh, he's still thinking I might change my name about Elvis lol, it's not going to happen!

Biscuitsneeded - I know what you mean, I've been trying all sorts of biblical names due to the boy having those (although not for that reason, just turned out that way). It's just hard to agree on something as we both have different tastes. I like Issac but not sure about it going with our surname.

If it helps, our surname begins with a C smile

Oliver? That was my first thought after seeing your sons' names.

looneytune Sat 11-May-13 23:51:02

I like Oliver but unfortunately my best friend's son has that name.
