Is your space bar broken? That's really tricky to read like that confused

Much much prefer Merryn. Alice is very dull.

Yes,it.is.broken.Sorry..I.really.like.Merryn.too.but.didn't.know.if.it.was.too.unusual.

bump

ScaryBOOAlot Thu 11-Oct-12 20:33:45

I only know one - so its unusual enough to not completely unheard of.

Kelerina Thu 11-Oct-12 20:33:48

VivaLeBeaver Thu 11-Oct-12 20:48:01

I think middle name needs to be a one syllable one to flow well.

thank.you.It.is.old.english.and.means.joyful.

Mine.and.my.daughters.middle.name.is.May.It's.my.mum.and.Nans.middle.
name.too..Not.sure.if.I.should.use.it.for.a.second.daughter?

Lizzylou Thu 11-Oct-12 20:55:11

Merryn!
I may even go back on everything I've ever said and do the sex until I get me one!

Fab name. Merryn May would be A.M.A.Z.I.N.G

RubberNeckerNicker Thu 11-Oct-12 20:55:40

Hehe, x-posted I think it goes well, but if you all have it maybe you should avoid.

Merryn June instead? grin

honeytea Thu 11-Oct-12 20:56:58

Meglet Thu 11-Oct-12 20:59:03

Ooh Merryn! Lovely name! Really love that.

I have a Dneice Meryn, she is adorable. It's a lovely name.

WineOhWhy Thu 11-Oct-12 21:11:47

I like both names. I am guessing from your name that DD1 is Lucy. I think Alice goes better if that matters to you, but merryn is more interesting.

Merryn Alice
Merryn faith
Merryn hope

What is your boy's name?

AvonCallingBarksdale Thu 11-Oct-12 21:12:28

Both lovely names, but have always loved Alice, so I'd go for that.

goinnowhere Thu 11-Oct-12 21:21:10

Alice. Definitely. Classy and classic and feminine but strong.

5madthings Thu 11-Oct-12 21:24:46

My dd is Merryn! She is 21mths and everyone comments on how its unusual and lovely!

Its cornish/old english and yes means joyfull and lighthearted. It is also linked to the sea as well. Its a lovely, lovely name smile

exoticfruits Thu 11-Oct-12 21:31:30

Definitely Alice.

HollyGoHeavily Thu 11-Oct-12 21:34:54

Both lovely but for me Alice has the edge - it's beautiful and classic.

vitaminC Thu 11-Oct-12 21:38:48

Oooh, Merryn is lovely smile

Alice has been done to death the past 15 years or so, so I would definitely choose Merryn!

SomersetONeil Fri 12-Oct-12 06:32:35

Merryn. I always recommend it (amongst others) when people are looking for timeless, undateable names.

You can do better than Merryn May though - anything is more interesting than May in middle name terms. smile

MrsJohnDeere Fri 12-Oct-12 06:41:05

Alice

kerala Fri 12-Oct-12 14:31:04

Merryn Iris
Merryn Rose
Merryn Martha
Merryn Ivy
Merryn Esme
Merryn Sarah
Merryn Charlotte

Thanks everyone. smile We were going to use Ivy as a middle name, but my SIL has recently had a baby girl and used that as her middle name.

My boys name is Barnaby. smile

Merryn Rose is nice.

mrstowers Fri 12-Oct-12 19:06:44

I think Merryn Alice is lovely.

insancerre Fri 12-Oct-12 19:08:44

Alice
It's dd's name

Does Merryn Wren go together? I quite like the nic name Merry-wren. grin

SirBoobAlot Fri 12-Oct-12 19:58:48

Merryn Wren is ridiculous, please don't! She'll develop a nickname once she's here.

Oh, o.k. grin

SirBoobAlot Sat 13-Oct-12 09:45:22

I mean you could call her that as a nickname - but don't actually put it on the birth certificate. Say the whole thing aloud, without thinking about "cute" potential..!

will do. wink
