Jeremiah would be a nice "long version" of Jem.

I know one Jem, short for Jeremy. I love it. I met a two year old Jem at the airport last year but that's the only other encounter.

My ex is a Jem. Jem by name, definitely not a Gem by nature I'm afraid.

LadyCressida · 30/06/2010 15:52

I have always loved Jem as a name for a boy (probably from that book too!)

How about

Joel
Joss
Jude

thanks all for taking the time to reply-yep i can definately recommend jem as a name, everyone always stops to ask me why i called him it though thanks for all the suggestions as well really like jude or maybe jaden for a boy-jago is a new one but i really like that too! actually having much more trouble finding girls names i like y mum gave both me and my brother names beginning with r so really want to carry that on-despite the annoying fact we have the same initials

I'm a Jem, but I am a girl and it's short for boring old Jemma

I have always wanted a DS called Jem as I loved the character in Jamaica Inn. I assume it is short for James, but not sure.

I like Jem and Jude? Jaden is not nice imho.
