DS - Love all of those names but don't think they would go down well in deepest darkest Yorkshire.
Thanks for the feedback everyone. I ask because I have Thomas and am considering another popular name for Ds2 due in Oct.
I'm in Yorkshire and know of quite a few Dylans and Owens! I'll grant you I've not come accross the others locally mind.
Jack, Joshua, Joseph, William and Harry are probably the ones I hear the most.
FTG - likewise, I loce Osian though.
All sorts of names are used all over the place these days so I wouldn't let that worry me if I really loved a name.
Of course I say this with the confidence of someone with fairly traditional taste in names.
At least 3 each of Harry, Joseph, Samuel, Reuben

The most popular boys name I know of is Jack. I'm having a boy in September & I've picked Jacob for my baby name because I love it & I thought it was multifunctional, he can be Jakey when he's a baby, Jake when he's a boy & Jacob when he grows into a man. None of my friends seem to like it though!
Hence the reason why if anybody asks me now if I've picked a name yet, I say "Ummmm.....not really," even though I have! Haha!
But Jack, Harry, Charlie etc are names I hear a lot these days.
LB - I know two Jacobs and they are both complete poppets. We told my BIL what we were going to call DS and he turned his nose up and we didn't use it. People are not usually rude enough to comment once the baby has been named. FFS a frend of mine even mangaged to be enthusiastic about a Floyd !

Why are you limiting your choices so much by only considering names that are popular?
Are you worried about bullying if you choose a name you like rather than one that thousands of other people have chosen?
It all seems really bizarre, like when you see groups of teenagers all dressed exactly the same because a certain item of clothing is in fashion, regardless of whether the clothing suits the wearer or not.
I'm not only considering popular names; I just like names that are popular.
