Comes across as very Trying Too Hard, if I'm honest. One or the other would be beautiful, but combined, that's the impression I'm getting. Sorry.

Leave some vowels for the rest of us.

I don't really like either name and the two together is too much.

Araminthea looks made up.

I notice that the Amarinthea in the link by kickarse calls herself Amy. Bit of a waste of your long, rather try hard (sorry) choice if your baby ends up referring to herself as Amy. Amy is lovely, but obviously not the vibe you are aiming for with this mouthful.

Try hard. I can't take it seriously, sorry.

Sounds a bit like a herbal remedy to me. Wouldn't use the two together and prefer Araminta nn Minty.

Yes, Araminta nn Minty is lovely

I think both names individually are quite pretty but together they are a bit of a mouthful. TBH when I saw your title I thought it was about some herbal remedy or something...
Also it depends what your surname is. if it's something like Smith or Jones it really wouldn't go...

I also clicked on this thinking it was going to be about an interesting plant in the gardening topic.
I'm sure it would be a lovely plant .

i think you are on a wind up......

You'll give her teachers heart failure. Honestly if I had a little girl with that trainload I'd cry.... And fitting it onto anything of fixed dimensions will be a challenge. And she'll forever have to spell it out so you'd better hope she's a good speller.

Plus sounds truly horrid in some languages.

So no.

Araminta, OTOH, is nice, even with Euphrasia.

I thought this was about a disease!

All I will say is that Araminta has a much more, um, relaxed feel about it.

TigerFeet · 03/06/2010 11:42

i think you should hyphenate it and insist that everyone call her by her complete name, at all times

I like both names individually. You're not going to say/write both names together, as Euphrasia is the middle name, isn't it?

Lots of scope for nicknames too - Amy, Minty, Thea etc.

I reckon this is SteveLada at his tricks again.....
