Help me name my twins!

First post so please bear with me....!

I am 8 months pregnant with twins but naming them is turning into a slight fiasco due to DH's various 'familial needs' so thought I would turn to here for advice!
Here is my slightly too long shortlist:

Augusta - possible nn Goosy
Allegra
Aphra
Carolina
Cordelia - nn. Coco
Chloris
Christabel- nn. Coco
Clover
Delphi - with poss. full name Delphinia
Florence
Harryo
Hebe
Hero
India
Lettice - nn. Letty
Pandora
Perdita (pur- dita)
Posy
Tansy
Violet
Willow

Arthur
Felix
Finn
George
Harry
Hector
Humphrey
Monty
Milo
Rupert
Sebastian
William- nn. Billy

Would it be possible to give your top 5 girls names, top 5 boys names and then top 5 girl/ boy combinations as we are leaving the sexes as a suprise, also any suggestions especially for boys would be greatly apreciated!
Thankyou so much for your help

Augusta - possible nn Goosy - don't like and I'm sorry but Goosy is horrible imho
Allegra - not fond
Aphra - not fond
Carolina - not fond
Cordelia - nn. Coco - ok: I like Coco
Chloris - horrible, sorry
Christabel- nn. Coco - like it a lot
Clover - love this
Delphi - with poss. full name Delphinia - ok
Florence - nice
Harryo - pardon?
Hebe - ok-ish
Hero - no
India - no
Lettice - nn. Letty - terrible
Pandora - am quite fond of this
Perdita (pur- dita) - ok
Posy- love it
Tansy -ok
Violet - nice
Willow - no

Love these boys's names but not the others:
Hector
Monty
Rupert
Sebastian
William is fine but dislike Billy.

A lot of your girls' names sound a bit 'try hard' imo, as though you're trying to be different or trendy, sorry. The more simple ones are lovely.

Thankyou Maryz for the point about calling two names-hadn't taken that into consideration!
I think at the moment- taking into acount what has been said my top girls names are India, Posy,Clover, Hebe and either Christabel or Cordelia. I just love the name Coco but don't want to give it as a full name if you get me?
Boys I'm still unsure, think I'll wait to see what dh says.
We also have a long, double barrelled surname so I don't want a too traditionnal name like Elizabeth ( I think this mainly affects girls) as it's just too much for a baby.

Thankyou for all your help and keep it coming!

My favourites are (they're pretty much what I have on my ultimate list)

Tansy
Posy
Violet
Hebe
Hero

Monty
Hector
Sebastian
Felix
Billy

I think any of the girls' names goes with any of the boys'.

Report
LuluF · 31/05/2010 14:43

Though I should've said that I'd avoid Hebe and Hero as a pair and Hector with Hebe or Hero - but that's only because I'm not a fan of alliterative names - but that's just my preference and may not be yours.
