I'm not mad keen on Skye, sounds a bit out-dated to me. I love Delilah tho (couldn't have it as it rhymes with our surname)

Skye Skye Skye.......Delilah!

Skye is ok, but paired with Delilah it is too much.

You have two very strong names there, alone each would be ok, but together - no.

Skye Marie - something more traditional like that would be nicer.

LOL MoreCrackThanHarlem. I hadn't thought of that!

How about swapping the names around? Delilah Skye would be a great name

Report
SirBoobAlot · 02/05/2010 23:36

One or the other, not both. Prefer Skye out of the two...

MoreCrackThanHarlem · 02/05/2010 23:50

Oooh, yes to recireci's suggestion

And what Morecrack said was the first thing that came to my mind too.

Problem with Delilah Skye is how close it is to the Isle of Skye.

See my relative Delilah White for similar issues.

pmsl show of hands! that is what I thought too.

I like Skye, not keen on Delilah, you should choose one or the other imho.

In the Bible Delilah was a manipulative woman who brought a good man down - why would you want to name your child after her????

Report
mopsyflopsy · 03/05/2010 10:38

I know a lovely Skye, so like the name a lot.

Not keen on Delilah, sounds a bit outdated to me.

Skye, Skye, Skye Delilah

Remind you of a famous song

ShowOfHands · 03/05/2010 10:41

What zozzle is trying to say is that Delilah was a biblical whore.

But then lots of names mean lots of things and it's fairly easy to diassociate them.

Search the archives. There's been several threads on Delilah, erm here for example. As I said in that thread, my brother gets a lot of faces when they hear his dd's name. It is the biblical reference that does it unfortunately.

Oh so what about what the Bible says. No men were tarts were they. Misogynistic crap.

I love Delilah and it would have been the name of one of mine.

what about Sarah, Jane, Milly, Suzanne, Claire, Isabelle, Smanthan, Jessica, Lisa, errr something normal ??

Runs and hides quickly.

Seriously though it will date quickly and is I'm sorry but imho totally naff.

Fluffy that is a quite boring list and rather 70s don't you think?

People who like wearing beige always think cerise is loud and naff.
