Growing up in the North of England do you think this is a good name for a boy?

Google tells me it is from the Old Testamant, a name that means ash or pine.

I like it actually.

Did make me think of Oran which is gaelic as far as I know.

Oren is Orange in Welsh. So if you ever move to Wales people might think you are being a bit of a Gwynneth Paltrow (Apple) or wonder if your son is a red-head!!!!

I met a Jewish/Israeli guy in Munich called Oren when we were having our family holiday there in 2008. I think the name is lovely.

My eldest son is called Orin Elio, we are italian but we named him Orin after our friend from Israel called Oren....I spelt it wrong at birth! But it is biblical and you can spell either way.
He loves it we love it.

Lovely, I've never heard of it before, but I like it, it's got a really nice sound to it, and nice meaning.

my son is oren. i would have liked to use the odhran spelling as we're irish but living in england i knew it would be problematic, so went with the hebrew spelling instead.
obviously you get the thumbs up from me, i think its great! and it really suits our son as the meaning of pine or ash tree is pertinant to him being soooo tall and with a keen interest in the outdoors!
