I like the names Patience and Beatrix for a little girl. What do you think?

Much as I like the name Patience it always seems to me you're saddling the poor girl with a lot to live up to and sods law dictates she'll be the most impatient child on the planet!

Plus can you hear yourself saying 'Please be patient, Patience'? Or 'don't be so impatient, Patience'?

Beatrix on the other hand is lovely.

"Patience, patience".

I would not like to be saddled with it, sorry. Beatrix is much, much nicer imo.

Beatrix is lovely, Patience would be very odd if you have a girl with bundles of energy.

I love this name. DD was nearly Patience but she most certainly isn't.

Beatrix is lovely. As long as your surname isn't Potter, obviously.

Patience, however, is the primmest (is that a word?) name I've ever heard. I think she'd have to live on the set of a costume drama, and just dance around all day holding a bouquet of narcissi.

It might work as a mn, eg. Beatrix Patience

I like Beatrix.
Patience sounds far too serious and prim. I like Primrose though, despite the 'prim' at the beginning.

Patience, like Mercy is a name I will always associate with cheery Nigerian ladies as they are the only people I've ever met with those names.

I prefer Beatrix/Beatrice.

I don't think so wonderstuff. What makes you think that?

I think it's rather lovely.

Not as hard to live up to as the name Cher gave her daughter - "Chastity"

That said the only two Patience's I have met have been big jolly midwives!

Oh, and Beatrix and Bea for short are really lovely.

I like Bea or Bebe for short. Not sure about the full name though. Patience is nice, lacks nn possibilities though.
