Anna and Alex/ander ok for siblings?

DD is Anna, now 15 months. New addition due in June and is apparantly a boy!

We had Alexander as our favourite name for a boy when expecting DD and are struggling to come up with one we both agree on this time.

I'd rather the initial was different, but DH and I are not A's so would it be ok since we only plan 2 children?

We'd probably use Alex day to day - are Annnnaaaaa and Allllexxxxx different enough for yelling out?

Thoughts or alternatives please!

Surname is a traditional 2 syllable scottish mac.... surname. Lots of other boys names are in current family use so limiting a little - and there are some cultuaral differences between DH and I in what names bring to mind ... he's from the Hebrides and I am from SE England so we have very different reactions to certain names!

I think they sound nice together. And I love Alexander. It's Ds's middle name (although I would now prefer it to be his first)

Think they sound lovely together. Because the first syllable is different (An and Al), I don't think you'll get confused at who you're bellowing at !!
Lovely, both of them.

Lovely names and very nice together. They're not matchy matchy at all. They complement each other.

Brilliant!

Was hoping I was being paranoid.

Very likely to be a little Alex then if he suits it upon arrival! Good job we decided against Alexandra last time or we'd be in big trouble now!

I think they compliment each other really well.My dd's have the same initial and I did hesitate about it but we couldn't think of a name for dd2 that we liked as much as the one she has.Siblings are only linked by their names for a short time anyway.
