smithy's roasted beetroot: low-fat, dairy-free, gluten-free, nut-free and generally nutritious and virtuous. This one-dish wonder is delicious and uses up some seasonal beets. What's not to like?

The choice is between....

Saul Nealan Williams

or

Fraser Ellis Williams

After weeks of debate these are the two we are finally left with. We both like the names equally, so just curious to see which out of the two (if you dont like either, no need to post to say so) you prefer.

Fraser is a family name, as is Ellis. Saul is a name we just like and Nealan is after my dad. I am, and baby will be, scottish.

Saul, definitely.
Chillohippi Sun 07-Feb-10 19:40:37
I prefer Fraser Ellis.
izzybiz Sun 07-Feb-10 19:41:04
Fraser.
nigglewiggle Sun 07-Feb-10 19:41:36
I like both, but I prefer Fraser Ellis as it is less tongue-trippy.

Good luck.
Saul Nealan, definitely

I really like both names.

I imagine them as full grown men...

Fraser sounds good looking, kind and reliable.

Saul sounds creative, sensual and stubborn.
ChickenInABasket Sun 07-Feb-10 20:16:35
Wait till he arrives and see which suits him best
Wolfblass Sun 07-Feb-10 20:17:16
Oooh i really like both Names

Saul was on our shortlist when i was pg with DD

So my vote is for Saul, as when i said Fraser it just reminded me of Frasier the American Sitcom!

Good luck with the new arrival xx

Both lovely, but I prefer Fraser Ellis.

Best wishes.

prefer Fraser, but the initials spell FEW, that might sound odd confused
janeite Sun 07-Feb-10 20:26:25
I like Ellis.
haggismam Sun 07-Feb-10 20:56:52
thanks folks, I think we probably will just keep both in mind and see which suits him best when he is born. We really do love both names, too hard to choose between them. I did wonder about the initials spelling FEW...but I cant really think of anything negative about that at the moment.
hewasmytwin Sun 07-Feb-10 21:00:49
FEW is not offensive

if it spelt PIG or GIT or DIK or HAG it might not be a problem

but FEW is fine IMO
LynetteScavo Sun 07-Feb-10 21:04:29
Fraser Nealan

Fraser Ellis flows better than Saul Nealan.

I was also going to suggest Fraser Nealan.
bluebump Sun 07-Feb-10 21:16:56
I love Saul.
wubblybubbly Mon 08-Feb-10 12:42:43
FEW isn't offensive at all, but I'd be tempted to stick another consonant in there before or after the Ellis.

Fraser Nealan Ellis?
Fraser Ellis Nealan?

DS has four names, 1st after my Dad, 2nd after DH, 3rd my surname, 4th DH surname.

Saul conjours up the biblical king for me--I wouldn't be able to get past it.

Fraser Ellis Nealan is FAB!!
