Clementine or Lucinda

Please can you tell me which you prefer out of these two names on my shortlist? Which one is more common and what do these names make you think of?

OK, try again, I prefer Clementine in total I think but Lucinda has better nn's - Lucy, Cindy, Lindy. I don't like Clem or Clemmy so much.

Lucinda I think has to be very ethereal and fairy like. I am unlikely ever to produce such a child so would go with the other option.

Also Lucinda might get shortened to the dreadfully wet Lucy.

I love Clementine! I'm sure I could never convince my OH, but I think it's gorgeous.

I even think it sounds nice shortened to Clem as well, despite the fact it rhymes with phlegm...

I love Lucinda - very grown up and elegant.
Clementine is ok, but very faddy - I never met one in 30 odd years and now i know 4 under 5 (SE England).
The only Lucinda i Know is a grown woman - I love Lucinda!

Perhaps Clementine is faddy - I have to admit, it's only been in recent years that I keep hearing it. Do love it though.

I love Lucinda, I think Clementine is much more popular atm and will be much more dated when she is grown up

Clementine is very now, which is why it's moved down my list a bit, although I do like Clem as a nn. Some ppl think of the fruit but imo it is very pretty.

Lucinda has lisping girls on fat ponies associations BUT it is much less used and will probably stand the test of time better.

Lucinda is my sister's name, she has always disliked it and just called herself Lucy.

Lucinda is lovely (I am a Lucy and always wished I had been a Lucinda).

Clementine is lovely but I would use Clemency instead, personally. It's just a tiny bit more unusual and prettier and it has a nicer meaning. Clementine says Satsuma to me, sorry.

I very much like Lucinda (nn=Lucy).

There's a very corny traditional American song 'My darling Clementine' -- totally puts me off. And what's the NN? Clemmy? Like Clammy? Or is she named after the orange? Just don't go there (imho).
