DP thinks Sam Shaw sounds like a private detective! What do you think? Does alliteration work?

Sounds lovely

I do have to agree with your DP, but maybe your new DS will actually be a private detective one day, so that name would be an advantage
Alliteration can work nicely, but maybe the vowels/phonics need to differ or else it kind of looks like your parents don't really like you?

REally cool, sounds like a rugby player to me but is gorgeous, only question, would there be any issue over being SS, or am I being a wally?

However, Samuel Shaw is way better than Sean/shaun Shaw, or for that matter, any forename beginning with C (C Shaw, eek)

Thanks for comments, keep them coming. Think I am slowly going mad trying to choose a name!

Hmm, never thought of SS! We won't even look at any C names, because of C Shaw, now that would be cruel!

I think Shaw is the surname

As soon as I'd posted it I realised that it wasn't a middle name.
Having a brunette moment again. I need a chocolate fix as you can tell.

LetThereBeRock - Shaw is DP's surname, too late to change him I'm afraid !

If it's not a middle name it'd be fine. Though I do think that it sounds like a detective.

It'd also be a marvellous name for an author. I'd buy his books.

Shaw was mentioned as a first name a while ago....
Remember Shaw Taylor (keep 'em peeled) - that dates me .....

I think Sam Shaw sounds good. Sometimes single sylabel first names and sir names go well.

Clark Kent
Bruce Wayne

Not taking the piss, btw, I was actually thinking about this the other day while absentmindedly reading the blurb of DHs new book.
Theres something very manly about single sylabels together. Or is it just me???

It's cool. My DS is Sam Brick, which I always think sounds like a reporter or something. Wearing a fedora with a jaunty "press" card, don'tcha know. Maybe he will dig up mysteries for Sam Shaw to solve...
