I love it - considered it for dd3....

I think it's very pretty. Cal is an amazing nickname. I think it could go either way - very feminine and delicate or rather cool and sophisticated.

We have DNeice called Callista (in US). No-one ever associates her with Zeus' love, but everyone says 'oooh, is she called after Callista Flockhart' and the connotations for me are ditzy/fey and slightly ridiculous.

Why not try Callisto, or if you like the Greek theme:

Artemis
Demeter
Hebe

I prefer Calliope

I love Callista, but then I was obsessed with Jupiter at one point and it's the only name of it's moons that suits a person (baby Ganymede anybody?) grin

I used to like it, but it's the name of a fertility monitor too, which puts me off.

Woops, actually Callisto, but that was my immediate thought on Callista

it reminds me of that scrawny bird with the rubbery face from Ally McBeal.
