Baby names

Harvey or Hunter?

LALA77 · 21/11/2009 19:13

Our baby is due in 4 weeks time, if it's a girl she'll be Anna Noelle Reekie. Stuck between boys names, either Harvey James Reekie or Hunter James Reekie... thoughts please as Hunter is a "love it or hate it" name!

Neither, sorry. How about Gabriel? Anna is lovely and classic.

Neither if at all possible,

if you have no choice but to use one then use Harvey

If you thought 'Harv' was bad think what Hunter will be shortened to...

Hunter = Gladiators

Harvey = Jordan's son

Any other options? The 2 syllables starting with H works well, just perhaps not those 2 particular names.

I would choose Harvey out of those two names.

Hunter is a gladiator, not a child. Harvey is OK but not sure that Harvey Reekie sounds good, too many E sounds. What about James Harvey Reekie instead?

Aww,Don't take it as a personal affront lala,names are a very individual thing nd go with the one you like.FWIW dd has a very popular name that many don't like but I love it.

Enjoy your new baby

(Ps I LOVE your girls name,Anna is a beautiful name)

Lala - please don't be annoyed at the responses

according to the MN opinions my DD1 has a name thats too common, DD2 has a name thats 'chav' and DD3 has a name that should only be used for a boy

keep them both until he's here and choose whichever suits him best

although in saying that there was a producer/director or something who was the very last name in the credits on one of DH's programmes (I can't remember which) called Hunter Covington which I thought was a brilliant name

I really like Hunter too

I know a little boy called Hunter. It is not a name I would ever choose myself but it is his name and it suits him.

I suppose my point is that whatever you choose will suit your baby once everyone has got used to it so choose the name you like! The Hunter I know is a lovely little boy too, if that helps!

Hunter is not a proper name.
Harvey is becoming more and more chav, but is the better of your two options.

I love Hunter, not my usual style but think it sounds strong and is a real "boys" name, not keen on Harvey.
