Louis, very classic.

Oscar too'now'.

Agree that Oscar is very trendy and has become very popular recently.

Louis is more classic. That would be my choice.

Our new baby is Louis, we love it but wait and see which name fits the baby better.

Thanks, I will wait till I meet him to make a final decision, but wanted opinions to help me along the way.

We will use a family name for the middle, so will either be Edward, John, Arthur or George (all the grandpas), or we may use two of them, one from each side.

Oscar

Lots of little boys called louis round here - nice name but too frequent. Only know one Oscar.

I love Louis. It's always been on my name shortlist but I've had girls.
Plus I know an awesome guy called Louis who is very talented
My friend has a dog called Oscar too, it's going to be marked as a 'dog name' to me now for a good long time, along with Chloe, which was my nannas Yorkshire terrier! And Toby. Animal name, always.

There's some Louis' around here that are pronounced Lewis. So if it was me I'd go for Louie. No mistake then! I like Oscar as well.

Thanks for taking the time to give me your opinions.

I think it's half and half right now. Typical!

Any more opinions very welcomed.

Thanks Cauliflower, it is something we've thought about.
We have asked most of our close friends and family how they would think Louee is spelt and they all said L o u i s. Plus, I don't like the look of Louie, it looks odd to me.

I prefer louis personally. I know a little oscar and a little louis though, I would say they are definitely both popular at the mo

Louis is no 59 and went up one place last year, Oscar is no 30 and went up 11 places.

Its rising popularity put me off and my little boy was called Jacob instead...

I would def go for Louis. It would worry me with Oscar that its a bit of a "trend"

Louis is fab
