Hi everyone,

we are 20 weeks prg with DC3- found out he will be a boy(i really thought it was a girl) anyhoo we have three names that we like,

George Elliott (i know there is a femal author with this name and don't consider it a problem)

Henry

or

William known as Billy maybee?

middle names tbd!!!!

the reason for my post is Henry is my favorite of them all, however my DS1 is called Harry Michael (aged 4.9) i also have Rosie Olivia aged 20 months, so can i really get away with Harry and Henry?????

I like Henry and don't see why you can't use it.

I think Harry and Henry is a bit odd tbh. Harry is a nn for Henry, so it is almost like having two children with the same name

I like Henry very much.

However I do think Harry and Henry would be odd as Harry is basically a diminutive of Henry.

So a bit like having children called William and Billy.

George and William are both great names. Don't worry about George Eliot (I assume you mean Elliott as middle name) as middle names are rarely used anyway.

William Henry is an excellent name.

Love Henry as a first name (but would be odd if you have a Harry) and George too.

I, like Clary, think brothers called Harry and Henry would be odd.

I'm old-fashioned in that if I used a diminutive the child would have to have the 'proper' name on their birth certificate.

Harry is a pet name for Henry. It really is like calling two brothers the same name. You might end up looking like someone who didn't know much about your children's names and their meanings... George Elliott would be fine -- it was a nom de plume and not the real name of that author. I also like William Henry. What about Elliott as a first name?

I don't think you can have Henry and Harry. It's the same name in so many people's eyes.

George, William, Elliot - all good.

George is the best one , don't go with billy it has a tendancy to be used for naughty boys in stories (and youth offending DVDs!)
