It's a family name so I'd like to use it but I'm not sure I like it enough. DH isn't keen.

Rex was one of my fave books as a child - but it was about a dog. I wouldn't use it as a first name.

My ds2 is called Rex. It really suits him, and in my opinion is a nice, strong, unique name

It wouldn't stop me from naming a child if I liked the name.

There is a funny Austrian show about a dog called Rex. It's very odd, not mainstream at all.

There is a builder in my Dh's home town called Rex. He was always called Sexy Rexy, even though he wasn't.

Felix is lovely but it's at least as cat as Rex is dog.

My name can be a dog's name. Well I suppose any name can be. But once a friend's mum said "are you hungry maggie?" I said "oh, er, a little peckish thank you mrs patterson". I was talking to the dog she said.

I have a nephew Rex, he was named for a favourite great uncle. He loves the name himself but just in case, his full name (which is never used) is Richard. I think Rex was once a diminutive for Richard.
