Month names

Like April, May, June (maybe January?) - can you only give a child a month name if they are born in that month? Or is it a bit twee to name a child after the month they are born in.

I'm not sure what the naming etiquette is.

April, May and June are probably OK whatever the month if they are the kind of names which float your boat. (May as the default middle name is yawningly boring but quite pretty as a first name)

I think any December born in August would be a bit

Actually, any poor kid called December at all would be a bit

The months I think don't work as names are February, July, September, November and December.

January ? I didn't think this could be a name actually until watching Mad Men and Betty Draper's real name is January Jones. But now I quite like it for a girl.

March ? quite nice for a boy or girl.

April, May and June are ok if you like the granny chic type of names.

August ? think you could get away with this for a boy..

October ? really like this for a girl.

I would think it was odd if a person born with a month name wasn?t born in that month personally.

April reminds me of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!
I think October could work as a girls name, it would suit the same kind of girl that Rowan would suit i think.
You could get away with April, May and June if born in any month, but i imo anything else would need to match.

Not too sure about September though.

I think personally it only works when the baby was born in that month. March, August, January, September and October are IMO fairly OK. February also has something...

April, May and June Cholly-Sawcutt in the Jill pony stories would put me off the names but those books are as old as the hills so shouldn't influence anyone. June is particularly nice.

If you had a son and called him March, what if he became a soldier? May is sweet, not so keen on April and June.

I know of a Mae who was born in July. Spelling it with an 'e' rather then a 'y' separates it from the month. But I thimk she'll always have her name spelt wrong!

I know a June born in June, an April born in May and a May born in July. Not sure about using any other months as names TBH.

If I have a baby in May, would it be ok to name her April then? Or do you think she'd go through life with people asking if she was born in April?

What would be the worst month to name a child?
I cannot think that anyone would name their child February for instance. And November really doesn't do it for me either.

Bah! I only saw the first sentence, I was going to say February and November.
