I used it as a middle name as it was my mum's name (she died 20 years ago).

I'm afraid it brings to mind an old lady in a nursing home who wears too much bright make-up! I can't imagine it suiting a child - but each to their own!! Giving it as a middle name is a nice compromise though - it might come back into fashion in years to come and then DD could pass it on again!

My immediate association is Munroe not Manson and certainly not old ladies.

I rather like it.

it's Monroe not Munroe!

Pardon me, I was getting confused with the name for large peaks.

Is the most beautiful and glamorous name in the world.

I would definitely be going for it had I not already wasted it on a cat.

(Incidentally, TwoHot: Mandy Rice-Davies was also a Marilyn!)

I like it. My first thought was of Marilyn Monroe.
