ds1 is due in October and we can't decide what to name him. dd's are called Lily and Lydia.

We like Sebastian, Oscar, Christian, George so far. We do have a three syllable second name and MIL seems to think that rules out a long first name, but I disagree.

Any preferences or other ideas?

Christian and Sebastian are lovely, don't listen to your MIL, a long first name is fine.

Following the L theme, what about Lewie, luke, lucas, levi, leon, leaf. I also quite like Corin, Jayden and Efram.

I don't think I want another L name as think it will be a bit too themey, but do want it to sound as if it goes with our girls' names.

Current favourite is Sebastian with Seb for short. We did love Oscar, but the Eastenders connection puts me off a bit.

Some other good suggestions too, thank you.

Definitely like traditional names, so something more modern or unusual like Jayden or Leaf wouldn't really be for us.

I answered this but it disappeared.

Oscar Christian rocks.

Sebastian Christian is also fab (but I don't like Seb).

George - am not feeling it.

Benedict? Would probably be known as Ben so that would please your MIL.

George goes well. Do you like Matthew or Zachary?

Ds1 is Oscar James and even with there being an Oscar in Eastenders,I've yet to meet another one.

I love Christian - not a name you hear often these days.

I had an enormous swoony crush on a boy at Sunday School called Christian when I was about 6. I loved the name ever since (unfortunately, DH hates it).

I like all your names. Oscar is probably my least favourite but is still perfectly nice. Sebastian and Christian would be less popular than the other two if that is something that concerns you. I think any of the would 'go' fine with your daughters (v pretty) names.

So far it looks like Christian and Sebastian are in the lead. I do love Sebastian, I'm just worried about MIL's reaction. Her idea of a good boys' name is more like Gary, so Sebastian will be a bit unusual for her. She is also very tactless and blunt!
