I love the name Duke. Percy is cute and Cosimo sounds cool I think? I don't talk to family and friends about names so I thought I would ask here.

We already have a Bruno, Hector and Myles.

dustbucket Sun 19-Jul-09 11:40:21

Does anyone have a preference?

Thunderduck Sun 19-Jul-09 12:04:49

I don't like any of them.

Fairy / cat / train.

PuppyMonkey Sun 19-Jul-09 12:07:00

no/ no/ no

littlelamb Sun 19-Jul-09 12:07:19

Cosimo looks like you've put an extra letter in Cosmo. Percy is an engine and Marmaduke's last name is Scarlet. (I should add, Duke will always be a shire horse name to me. Sorry)

littlelamb Sun 19-Jul-09 12:08:10

I see you watch Fairly Odd Parents too dis wink

They are not names I'd pick but quite like them. Percy is most normal I guess but would always make me think of Blackadder - it is quite sweet though. Not sure about how to pronounce Cosimo (Cozzymo? Co-see-mo?)- is it Italian? And if so, are you Italian? How about Cosmo? I am quite fond of Marmaduke but less keen on Duke - sounds to my ear like something an American would pick because it sounded quaint. They all go with your other names though

expertinscunthorpe Sun 19-Jul-09 12:08:37

No to all.

I quite like Myles though.

Lulubee Sun 19-Jul-09 12:28:45

You're either incredibly posh or incredibly aspirational.

differentID Sun 19-Jul-09 12:31:21

I think they're ok- but don't sound quite right with your other trio.
Cosmo sounds fine with it, as would Montgomery or Peregrine.

ZZZenAgain Sun 19-Jul-09 12:37:16

not keen on Marmaduke, sorry. Of those 3 I would choose Percy

HerHonesty Sun 19-Jul-09 12:37:25

actually i like them all but marmaduke is a common name for a cat. but duke is pretty cute.

MartinBlankWasMyFirstLove Sun 19-Jul-09 12:41:19

The only one I don't like is Percy, others are great.

As you already have a Bruno, adding a Cosimo sounds a bit like you secretly wish you were Nigella Lawson though?

FranSanDisco Sun 19-Jul-09 12:48:29

Not keen really - Percy Pecker is another name for penis blush. I have a nephew called Myles and spelt the same smile. Barney seems to fit with your other names and is OK or Dexter perhaps.

hf128219 Sun 19-Jul-09 13:26:26

Only if your surname is Oppenheimer.

dustbucket Sun 19-Jul-09 13:41:04

No I am not posh or rich. I do have aspirations but not to be Nigella :-)

I know you shouldn't but I am struggling to find names that fit with the others.

I have posted the names on here so I am expecting for bitchiness, no problems.

cheesesarnie Sun 19-Jul-09 13:45:15

love the 3 in title but not duke.

dustbucket Sun 19-Jul-09 14:01:06

Thank you cheese sarnie. Boys names are so much harder, girls far easier in my opinion, I've had the name I like since I found out I was expecting :-) and haven't wavered.

Tidey Sun 19-Jul-09 14:02:44

I'm terribly sorry, but I think they're all dreadful. Good luck and best wishes anyway.

hocuspontas Sun 19-Jul-09 14:04:22

Prefer something like Monty or Max(well) to go with your others

cheesesarnie Sun 19-Jul-09 14:05:54

i think felix, leo or casper would go nicely with the names of your dc too.

i agree girls are easier(mind you ds1 had his name about ten years before i was even pregnantgrin).whats your girls name?

dustbucket Sun 19-Jul-09 14:09:37

It's Anna. Thank you for the alternatives. I think Felix is really sweet and getting rather popular now which is nice.

Two of the names are grandfather's names and we were hoping to continue the tradition with this one.

I remember clearly saying "ewwww" to names such as Ruby, Molly, Jack and Archie 15 years ago and now look how popular they are, times and opinions change don't they?

PuppyMonkey Sun 19-Jul-09 14:15:28

opinions won't change on Marmaduke, I'm guessing. grin

You sound like a Hugo kind of gal if I may say so... Hugo is better than Marmaduke at least, though personally I hate it. But have heard lots on MN say they like. smile

dustbucket Sun 19-Jul-09 14:19:47

I just don't like any Hugos I've ever met although I am sure there are lots of lovely mumsnet Hugos :-)
