Tip of the day

Cheap plastic tea sets are much more fun in the bath than expensive bath toys. And they don't get covered in black goo like rubber ducks do, either. Avendesora

Quote of the week

CaptainNancy's (admirably succinct) family rules: "Don't be a dingbat/duffer. Keep calm and carry on. Dream big. Shut up and get on with it."

Recipe of the week

Carmenere's cinder toffee: sweet, sticky, made-in-five-minutes toffee squares that'll spark off a few 'yums' among the 'oohs' and 'aahs' of your little fireworks-watchers.

To me, Alexa sounds like a girls' name and Alexis a boys' name.

Alex can be both (Alexander, Alexandra).

I always thought Alexis was a boys name but then the only one I have heard of is Alexis Denisof

Wikipedia says "The name was traditionally male, though it has been in use as a girls name in the United States since at least the 1940s"

Alexa is a girls name.

I like it, but then my DS is named Alexander...

Thanks for all your input.

Although my favorite has rated as least poular, it has just confirmed how much I like it. And its not a girls name. Its a unisex name. And I think its lovely. :D

Henry, Edward and Leo are all great

Felix I wouldnt have as its (for me) a cats name.

Alexis is a girls name. Alex or Alexander would be great. Are you thinking of Alexei, as in Alexei Sale? That is a boys name.

Hi

1. Leo - nice
2. Edward - classic
3. Felix - i still think of cats sorry
4. Henry - nice
5. Alexis - surely should be alexander or just alex for a boy. Alexis is girlie sorry.
Rearranging your list in order of my personal preference:

1. Leo - love it, love, it, love it!
2. Edward - lovely classic name
3. Felix - like it a lot
4. Henry - tis OK
5. Alexis - I think of it as a girl's name, sorry.
They're all ok apart from Alexis which I would say is a girl's name (I have a female cousin called Alexis).

I think I prefer Henry but like the nn for Edward (Ted, Ned etc)

I love Henry DS1 name. I love Leo as well sometimes wish I had chosen this for DS2.

I like Edward, not sure about Felix just can't get the cat thing out of my head with this one, but I have never met anyone called Felix and I'm sure my view would change if I ever did.
I like Edward and Henry.
Felix could grow on me (can't get past the cat thing atm).
Not sure about Alexis. Sounds like a girls name.
I don't like Leo.
Too many Henrys and Leos in the world at the moment, Edward a bit bland, Felix too pretentious, Alexis is a girl. Sorry!!

If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
