Nerys is a Welsh girl's name; never heard of Merys, but, if it's a real name, it sounds Welsh, too

I have a friend who's sister is called Merys. They're both very definitely Welsh - though I'm not sure if the name itself is (doesn't appear in my Welsh names book). I like it but I'm not particularly keen on the Missy nn.
