Clover?

Was reading Red magazine the other day and there were two mentions of women named Clover. I hadn't really thought of it before but the more I think about it the more I like it.

Anyone with me?

Cow's name

The Lord Mayor of Sydney is a Clover.

It's not for me. Unless you're naming a calf, or possibly a rabbit. GREAT name for a rabbit.

Lol MrsMattie, that's exactly what I was just about to post.

I cannot imagine it being said in anything other than a very strong Devon farmers accent (Clooow-VERRRRR)

Katie Carr's sister, shorely, not Devon milkers.

No, conjures up image of a dozy, big jersey cow.

Beautiful name imho.

Clover was the sister of Katy Carr from the "What Katy Did" books which I totally adored as a child.

It would be a nice name if it wasn't for the margarine.

See also Flora?

I think animal names should be reclaimed... I love so many:

My dad had a lovely Paint horse called Clover.

I used to look after a lovely horse called Clover.
Mad as a box of frogs.

Nice name, but not to my taste for a human, personally.

Having said that I want to name DS a name that seems more commonly associated with dogs or old men.

Lovely, if you have another 2 DD you can call them Flora and Marge .

Dont do it.

One of DD's "My Little Pony" is called Clover. She has a four leaf clover on her bottom, and always wins at everything.

A good friend of mine is in labor as we speak, and if she has a girl she'll be Clover. (A boy will be Phoenix)
I quite like it. It's no different really than Lily or Rose.

I know a small girl named MaeBelle...now THERE'S a cow's name!

I think it's lovely, immediately made me think of Clover Carr too. But does it pass the kick ass lawyer test? I can't imagine it on a grown woman...

Well whatever you think of the name, there's another Clover in the world now! My friend just had her first DC this morning, and that was the name they chose.

We don't have clover margarine here so I suppose that helps.

I think it's lovely but to be honest who cares what anyone else thinks?

It's your baby and if you like it then go for it.
