I prefer Isabel as Avery reminds me of a bird aviary and I think there is a company that makes scales or something called Avery.

Isabel. I love the name Isabella, it's really feminine. Avery reminds me of aviary. Or average.

Isn't Avery a boys name (and American to boot)? I'm sure that Fern in Charlotte's Web has a brother called Avery.

Lots of Isabel's around though (especially if you include the Isobel, Isabelle and Isabellas too).

I really, really don't like Avery, sorry.

Isobel is a lovely name.

Like the others Avery makes me think of birds (but like Ava) and like Isabel if you don't mind that it's very popular now

Isabel. Avary makes me think of a bird house.

Isabel is lovely. Don't like Avery at all!

Another one that thinks Avary sounds like
(a) a boy's name and
(b) something you keep birds in

Isabel is lovely but very popular.

Avery sounds too much like ovary and the first thing that came to mind was that its the name of a company that makes scales.

have you been on american name boards? Avery was suggested often on the american boards when I was pg years ago.

Go with Ava or Isabel.

FreshScent - I do like Ava. In fact, probably more than Isabel. Perhaps consider that as an alternative to Avery?

I know a little Avery, but he is a boy and American. Where is it from? it sounds made up.

Isabel? Meh. Gotta be in the Top 5 this year. Isabella much prettier, but still quite common. Depends if that bothers you.

My (American) niece is named Avery and the name has grown on me a lot. We often call her "Ayves." I believe it is far more commonly used for girls than boys at this point.

I do love the name Isabel in its various usages though too. And Ava.

Really dislike it, sorry. Sounds v. American. Love Isabel though.

Isabel. Avery's not nice to say to someone, especially as their name.
