I would say that most children growing up now are exposed to The Simpsons and I would suspect that an awful lot over the next few years will be too (plus thise with older siblings etc) so it may be worth bearing in mind?

I know a Shelby and the name suits her. Not something I would choose but if you like it then go for it.

As far as I know it has no context, no history and no meaning. It's just a collection of letters. Why not Wilby? Or Canby, Wontby, Cantby.......

This was my fave name when I was little and used to name all my dolls either Shelby or Christy. My taste in names has changed quite a bit but there will always be a place in my heart
