Hello

What are your opinions on the names Elora and Gwendolyn for a little girl?

My husband is keen on Gwendolyn and I got the name Elora from my favourite film :|

Don't hold back....

Thanks
Sarah

i LOVE Elora, never heard that name before.

Not sure about Gwendolyn though.

Like Gwendolyn, think Elora sounds a bit like a development of "executive residences".

Having read Malory Towers as a child, it has rather put me off Gwendolyn (the unpleasant child in the stories) - Elora is OK though.

I wanted Elora as a poss for our second, but my husband not keen. In a similar vein, I also really like Elowen.

Is your favourite film Willow?

Other names with a sort of magicky merlinny feel:

Arwen
Guinevere
Jadis
Galadriel
Aurora
Arianwen
Eiriann
Morgan

hate hate HATE Gwendolyn - have spent years telling people that I'm NOT Gwendolyn - Gwen on it's own is bad enough - but sorry did I mention that I hate the name Gwendolyn????

Love Elora

Gwen is lovely but Elora does sound made up.

I will be in the minority here but I like Gwendoline (prefer this spelling too). Elora sounds pretty but I haven't heard of it before. What about Elena/ Eliana/ Eleni?

I misread the names (it's late!) as Eowyn, which you could add to Greensleeves' list.

I've not heard of Elora - it's pretty
