So will Debbie/Mandy/Lindsay etc ever be en vogue once again?

Older names such as Elsie/Eve/Grace/Molly have all done the rounds again, will our kids be naming their offspring Debbie Louise do you reckon?

Yes I reckon so!

Mind you I quite liked Gillian for ds but dd wasn't having any of it, so just as well he was a boy.

I also like the name Lyn/Lynn/Lynne.

What about Kirsty, Kristy, Crystal, Kimberly etc? It's hard to know what will make a come-back. Lots of scullery maid names are popular but not all of them, ditto old man names. I have to say that I am amazed at some of the names that have suddenly become popular which would have been absolutely laughable only a decade ago - I've been trying to avoid these for DS2 (due soon) on the basis that they will probably be just as laughable again in another decade's time.

I have to say I like Lindsay, but prefer it as a boy's name.

I'm sure they will in their turn. Makes me think 1970's

1950/60's will probably come round again first.

Janet, Susan, Karen, Elizabeth, Julie, Lorraine, Linda, Alison, Nicholette (sp), Angela, Jane etc.

And for boys.....Stephen, Gary, Nigel, Robert, David, Martin, Paul, Keith, Anthony etc.

yes in the year 2055!

(by 2045 they might be avante-garde, old lady chic names, like Dulcie or Meryl or Edith are now.)

They won't be popular again until all the 70's and 80's children who are currently called those names, are old.

Like has happened with names such as Elsie/grace/Molly.

I really hope Crystal is never popular.. was it ever?

my little sister is called Lynsey and i think this spelling is so pretty. its much softer sounding without the D in the middle and i have always really liked it. spelt this way it seems timeless to me.....
