just saw a woman holding up a sign with her daughters name and date of birth...

Ambre. Never heard of it, not pregnant, hoping to get pregnant, would consider it.

bugger. It's a proper French name though, not a bastardisation of Amber, though is probably the same name in french. Hmmmm, is it bad to give a French name if you're not french?

Sorry, I thought it was a "Kreatyv" version of Amber! I like Amber though.

Sorry to rain on your naming choice earlier. I do know some Ambers but they all have fur.

There are lots of attractive French girl's names that are commonly used in the UK though so don't let me put you off!

Joseph is a handsome name.

Prefer Amber

Report
RustyBear · 14/03/2009 16:05

I'd prefer Amber, but then I'm biased.

See my profile for an Amber that doesn't have fur...

Hambre is hunger, but Ambre makes me think of Ambre Solaire!

I really like Amber though. Amber the resin (stone) is beautiful and it's a nice name.

Rustybear, your Amber is a beautiful girl.

RustyBear · 14/03/2009 16:34

Thank you MsBeauregarde, I think so too! (She does not take after her mum!)

Report
dooit · 14/03/2009 22:19

LOL NAO. I was always scared of Hamble. She had such an evil little face. Weird name too. Wonder where they got it from?
