I like Babette - I think it's cute and I love Betty and that could be a shortening of Babette. But we have no French connections, so to speak, and it could be pretentious.

Eliza - increasingly popular among chattering clases for good reason. It's pretty. I know one.

Clementine - I know one of these too. Same as Eliza. Like Tabitha etc, I think this is on an up curve.

Babette - unusual and nice, I like.

Viola - like Violet this is going to become trendy I think

Mamie - not for me. A bit too Guys and Dolls but I can see why you like it.

Pearl - yes, I like this.

Dinah - definitely my favourite. I also love Diana.

Babette would be my favourite from your list. I do like Viola but always worry it could be 'viler' in the playground.

Then I do wonder about a name with the word 'bab' in it. My brothers used 'bab' as another word for poop.
