By the way have no idea if I'm having a girl yet but the deal is the DH names a boy and I name a girl!!! I really liked Lois but he has already vetoed that. jane is my middle name and Elizabeth is a family name so trying to maintain some tradition.

Evie Jane would be good

Lois is a fab name - it's a shame your DH won't agree to it.

You could always go for Elizabeth with Libby for short

Evie Elizabeth, not Libby

Evie is nice, however there are 101 little girls running around named Eve Eva or Evie at the moment, it depends if a popular name is a problem to you or not.
I like Elizabeth, this has a lot of shorter names to choose from, Beth being my favorite.
I don't really have an opinion on Libby...

I would always call an Evie Eve or Eva, and use Evie as nn, to be honest. Either way, much nicer than Libby Jane.

Eve pronounced the French way is nice

Now i love Libby - but would probably have Elizabeth and shorten too Libby!

Evie i'm not to keen on as know alot of people considering this and fear it's going to be extremely popular.

Libby Jane is lovely IMO!

I like Libby Jane a lot.

Evie is very very popular here.

Lois is also very nice - perhaps DH will warm to it.

Libby Jane - much nicer and less commonly heard than Evie (pretty but there are sooooo many - around here anyway).
but I'd probably go for Elizabeth on the B.cert then shorten to Libby everyday.

Ditto - Elizabeth Jane - Libby as a nn. Then she also has Eliza/Beth as a back-up!

dinkymum · 04/03/2009 16:17

both nice but if had to choose would have to say Libby Jane HTH xxx

lotspot · 04/03/2009 18:12

personally i think Elizabeth Jane is really good lol

or Evie Jane

not keen on Evie Elizabeth tbh

and prefer Libby as a nickname for Elizabeth, in which case Elizabeth Jane could be Libby Jane as a NN

After a long discussion we think we have changed our minds completely! We are now considering Tamsyn Laura (my name).

I think having Elizabeth after Evie makes a sound a bit too much like 'evil', sorry.

Report
belgo · 05/03/2009 09:48

Yes I read the titel as Evil Elizabeth.

I would choose Elisabeth Jane, and use Libby as a nn.

Evie far, far too popular to the point where it is becoming boring. Why not go for Elisabeth (with s) Tamsin Elisabeth. I'm with an s and it's always been a bit different...
