how do you pronounce Eanna (I think it is Irish)

thanks does that mean it is really a boys name. DH and I are stuck on names and in desperation we looked at his geneology chart to see if there are any ancestor names we liked. Eanna was on there but didn't say male or female as wasn't on dh's direct line iykwim. Was hoping it was a girls name and quite liked it but though it might be said Yanna. Oh well maybe back to drawing board.

I would pronounce it Ay-a-na, but very smoothly, not clunky three syllables.

It's a bit like Beatrice, some people say Beetriss and some say Bee-a-triss (well ok it's not like, because it's Irish).

I know a couple of Eannas and they both pronounce it that way.

Ho it's pronounced Enna it's a boys name and means Birdlike. My girl attends an all Irish speaking school and it's called Gaelscoil Éanna this is how I know
