I love this name - DH vetoed it for DS.....lots of raised eyebrows when I mentioned it at the time too! Anyway, heard someone calling a little Gabriel today and I have name .

would def like to use this if we ever have another ds.....and if i could convince DH!

I love it, but wondered if it might be shortened to "Gay", and them be teased about it at school.

I love it - I would have used it for DS2, but my boss is called Gabriel (shortened to Gabe) which would have been too weird for words!

I do know what you mean though Coco...kids can be cruel.

Love it. Gets shortened to Gabe. No raised eyebrows in this house and not from anyone I know who has come across a friends DS of that very name. They cleverly put it with Vincent which I think makes him sound like a movie star.

it's my DS1's middle name. To be honest DH campaigned for it to be his first name but I had concerns over the shortened version in the playground.

We love the name!

I vetoed it when pg with dd, as dp wanted it and i just couldnt see it.

Now we are having a name dilemma for ds who is due in 2 weeks, i now like it and he doesn;t want it!

All of my family think it is awful -

I love it, but it got vetoed here too. Although to be honest, with the surname and the shortening DS would have been something sounding like Gay Pareee (Paris) Not so good!

no-one shortens our Gabriel to Gay.

he sometimes gets Gabe. but never Gay.

I find that if you use the full name then everyone else does too. or a shortening of your choice.

Love it. If dd had been a girl that would have been her name.

Our 6 day old son is a Gabriel, but he's known as Gabri-woo by DS1. DS1 is a Michael so I guess we are working on a theme!
