Considering same name as ex-bf?

Am I mad to do this? Haven't seen him for 10 years, some of my friends think so. Gregory is the name. We know we are having a boy and struggling with names. Also considering Dominic and Ben (previous front runner but we have both gone off it). We have a difficult surname so its not easy to find a name.

if you called your ds gregory, it would become your ds's name in your head and not your ex bf wuite quickly

Not mad at all, as pp said, it will be your DS' name really quickly and as it was so long ago it doesn't seem strange to me at all. Gregory (Greg) is a lovely name... hmm never thought of that one

I really like it. If he gets to hear of it, in one way it sends out the message that you couldn't care less what people think.

ANd really, people aren't seriously going to think... oh, that must be after her x boyfriend!

I wouldn't - DH wanted to call DD Sarah, who was an ex-fiancee of his (not that it was 'afther' her obviously). Now, much as I love the name too, there was no way I was going to give DD that name. Esp. as the ex had a PHD in some sort of chemistry, ran marathons and represented Scotland at judo ffs!!!

i'm doing it... the name i love for this dc if it's a boy is the same name as an ex from about 8 years ago.

dp doesn't know i had an ex by that name and i love the name itself and it's meaning, has nothing to do with the ex..... fgs, i haven't even seen him or heard from him in 6 years and am never likey to again as i live at the other ned of the counry now and i'd imagine he lies abroad.
