So if you like the name Eva, thinking along the same lines, can you think of other names?

Avis?

Only met two people ever with the name, so fairly rare (apart from the entire worldwide chain of car rental offices! )

I agree NL, Ada is lovely.
Also like Ina and Viv. And Thea. Thea is gorgeous.

NL/franca, where does 'Ada' come from? One of my dd's friends has that name and her parents are not from UK.

BS it was quite a popular name in the past in Italy.
It has 2 origins: 1 is hebraic from adah (adorned) and the other is german, short name for Adele/Adelaide etc. Means aristocratic origins.
sorry bad english

Northern Lurker,I think your'e right, I noticed that Alice in Wonderland's sister is called Ada.

Evie was popular before Edie, I know of a couple of Edies now. And Ava first pathes the way for Ada. IMO.

Ada is lovely... makes me think of that song by Sarah McLachlan "Adia".

My eldest was almost an Ada (but spelt Aida)

Eva and Matilde (not matilda - altho that's pretty too)
Audrey, or Aubrey (is that a boys name? I like it for a girl!)
May.
Molly.
Bessie.
Rose.

Just a few that sound quite nice together.
