What do you think?

LynetteScavo · 23/12/2008 12:03

Well, as you ask, it's not offensive, but I wouldn't choose it myself.

I prefer Jemma.

nickytinseltimes · 23/12/2008 12:03

I like it.

cece · 23/12/2008 12:06

Oh I just said to DD in the car that I liked the name Gemma, but that I prefer it spelt Jemma! How funny.

chocolatemummy · 23/12/2008 12:07

yeah its nice and simple,

Fimbo · 23/12/2008 12:09

I know 2, both lovely girls. One is Gemma Rose which sits nicely together imo

LedodgyChristmasjumper · 23/12/2008 12:09

I prefer Emma (but then that is my name).

Leo9 · 23/12/2008 12:18

I think there a million much prettier names for a girl. Since you ask!

ninedragons · 23/12/2008 12:19

Personally I think of it as very 80s.

I agree with Ledodgy; Emma is much nicer.

LouMacca · 23/12/2008 12:22

Sorry, don't like Gemma. Love Emma and Jenna as an alternative tho.

Poppycake · 23/12/2008 12:24

I've known some lovely Gemma/Gems. It's cute, but perhaps wouldn't suit a rugby playing hardarse..?

Anyway - did you read the Noel Streatfeild books? That's my Gemma association, so quite a nice one! That was published in the late 60s.

PlonkerTeatowelOnTheirHeads · 23/12/2008 12:48

Ooooh i like it! Prefer Jenna though ...

IllegallyBrunette · 23/12/2008 12:49

I like it, I know 2, one Gemma and one Jemma and both are lovely girls.

IllegallyBrunette · 23/12/2008 12:50

I also know a Jenna who is equally lovely.

Nancy66 · 23/12/2008 12:56

It's a bit ordinary - not offensive but not particularly pretty either

CatchaChristmasStar · 23/12/2008 12:59

Don't like it.

insywinsyspider · 23/12/2008 15:23

poppycake - I know a womens rugby coach called Gemma it suits her
I think its a lovely name

Poppycake · 23/12/2008 15:28

just goes to show! I always associated (and disliked) my dp's name before I met him because there was a weedy little bullying git in my school with the same name. Now of course I am converted, especially when his Mum told me her favoured alternatives...
