Lana Louise

I like it different without being too odd.
Unless your surname starts with an L in which case I would change one of them.

ChubbyDickAndSnowBalls · 18/12/2008 21:56

I think it sounds very pretty.

Lulubee · 18/12/2008 21:56

Lana is pretty, and quite unusual at the moment.

choosyfloosy · 18/12/2008 21:58

I do like it, though had never heard it before. Nice with Louise as well. Would go better with some surnames than others.

Pinkmarshmallow · 18/12/2008 21:58

Thanks for the replies. Don't worry, my surname does not begin with L!

My hairdresser was called Lana, and when I was pregnant, warned me of the way children go through a stage of seeing what their name is backwards. Just a note of caution...

dizzyjingles · 18/12/2008 22:11

like Lana

thisisyesterday · 18/12/2008 22:13

i like it. i had a friend at college called Lana

stillenacht · 18/12/2008 22:15

Sorry but i am not a big fan of the alliteration

BabyBaby123 · 18/12/2008 22:16

i like Lana but not sure about it with Louise

Pinkmarshmallow · 20/12/2008 12:31

haha sheilatakeabow- I remember going through that stage myself. Let's hope this LO (IF it's a girl & IF we do go for this name!)doesn't yet understand the meaning of that word if she goes through that stage too. Apart from all that (thanks for pointing that out, by the way), I think I still like the name....

Like Lana - very pretty. I'm also a bit fan of alliteration, so gets a thumbs up from me. Prefer Louisa though.

sorkycake · 20/12/2008 12:58

Alliterative names are the preserve of superheroes.

Lana is lovely, Louise is bloody awful.

BucketsofReindeerPoo · 21/12/2008 11:05

I love alliterative names. By accident my dd is LLB and my DS is KBB (yes we do call him by all 3 names at once!)

BucketsofReindeerPoo · 21/12/2008 11:05

How about Lucille instead of Louise?

CountessDracula · 21/12/2008 11:23

buckets is your dd going to be a lawyer do you think?

LiffeySaysNollaigShona · 21/12/2008 11:28

I like Louise and Louisa and even Lara is nice although a bit insubstantial or something.

Lana is anal backwards. I'm sorry to have to tell you this but if it weren't me it'd be a 13 yr old boy in front of the rest of her class.

BoccaDellaNativita · 21/12/2008 13:16

I like Louise and Louisa but don't care for Lana - it makes (to my ear) quite an ugly sound. Lara is prettier.

SAEJ · 21/12/2008 14:39

I like Lana but keep thinking of Lois Lane with all the Ls. .

BucketsofReindeerPoo · 21/12/2008 16:52

Wasn't the Marilyn character in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes called Lorelei Lee?

Hulababy · 21/12/2008 17:23

I also quite like Louise and Louisa, but I am not too keen on Lana.

Pinkmarshmallow · 23/12/2008 16:29

BUMP-
any more opinions? Kinda set on Louise as it's in the family, but still debating Lana...

LuLuBaihasbeenagoodgirl · 23/12/2008 17:07

Love Louise (it's in my family too). And like Lana too, although I would never have thought of it. Rather 'old Hollywood'. Personally a big fan of alliteratve names.

Go for it!

NorktasticNinja · 23/12/2008 17:10

I love Louise (and Louise) not really keen on Lana though. BUT, don't worry about us, just go with what you like best
